  • [Question] DL Entrance - S Harbor or S Disneyland Dr

We will be walking from S Harbor Blvd & W Orangewood Ave. Is it best to walk straight Harbor and enter there (approx 1 mile)? Or is it better to walk over S West St/Disneyland Dr (approx 2 miles) and enter through Downtown Disney?

Obviously I would rather walk one mile, but one of the map Web sites suggests I walk the long way.

I would say walk up Harbor.

It's a long walk through Downtown Disney.

yeah, walking though DD is longer than walking across the street and through the transportation plaza. you can get breakfast on your way up harbor!

        Your route:
Via the Timon lot trams: (do look at this option if this lot is open!!)
        Via DTD Monorail:
        Via DTD walking thru:
(one other option is to cut thru the Grand Cal from the Disneyland Drive route, saving you SOME distance)

First question is this: why not use the ART? Just curious. Even if there isn't a stop at your hotel specifically, you can still use it. I guess if you are up to walking but don't want to walk as far, your best bet is to walk to Katella, take a left and then cut into the Timon lot and catch the park tram there if they are running.

But, given the two choices you asked about, I would DEFINITELY walk up Harbor. You can take the route via Downtown Disney if you want to see the shops and eat a meal there. In fact, another option is to take the time during the day to meander through DTD and then Monorail in to the park.
I love my awesome crazy wonderful friends!!

The reason we're walking is to try and make it to the gates by 6:20 or so, for Early Entry. My understanding is that it is not feasible to get parked and to the gate by 6:20. Is this what you would recommend (walking)?

ART does come directly to our hotel, but it would not get us to the gate ahead of the rest of the mob ... would it?
