*sigh* I hope not, but I believe that it is going to be based on the Disney Cruise Line version. Why on Earth would anyone want to experience a non Pixar attraction?!

Rumor only for now... Some cast members that work there say it will stay for one more year after the September rehab of the theater. Also, there has recently been casting calls so I tend to doubt it.

Everything at the Entertainment division is purely speculation. But there are no immediate plans to remove Aladdin.

The Toy Story show has gotten some less than steller reviews, and I don't think Disney would want to put that in their theatre. We saw what happened when they put in a bad show in there before (steps in time).

The Hyperion is closing down sometime in September and will remain closed until sometime in December...

But Disney has already issued re-casting notices, in fact, already had some first auditions...

So it is clear that Disney is just shutting down performances for most of the fall of 2008 to re-cast, do repairs, and to save some labor costs during the "slow" season.

And that it should last through at least the end of Summer of 2009, due to the re-casting.

But after that, who knows, Disney loves to keep changing its mind......

                Re: is it true?

Lets hope Toy Story The Moosical wont be shown at Hyperion. I have heard nothing but nasty bad reviews of it.
While I personally loved Beauty and The Beast on Bway, Im mostly against Disney making every single animated film into a big musical. It just doesnt work all the time, or even most of the time.

Its surprising to me that while Disney owns some of the most beautiful and memorable movie music ever created, that they cant make a good, original musical review that isnt inane , boring, or derivative. With all the creative talent available at their disposal, it seems that a great musical review would be the best show possible for their theatre. And if they want ideas of what NOT to do, have them check out vids of Animazement and Steps in Time. IMHO

Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it...

It's easy DCA should just keep Aladdin then for the 10th Anniversary of DCA they should replace Aladdin with The Lion King.
