I was there on that day. I was only a AP at the time and remember my Dad making all of us kids come into the park everyday to collect those cards.

Yup. The beginning of the AP problem, IMO.

I think that was around the time that they started having multiple types of annual passes.

I haven't seen the video of Indy on Tink's wire, before. Thanks!

But the opening of the video was not completely accurate, when they mention the 30th Birthday, they show a picture of the Party Gras Parade, which was really the 35th Birthday.

Thank you so much for posting this! My birthday is on July 17th and I was at DL that day but I was pretty young so I don't remember much.

Oh, happier times before the Michael Eisner/Roy Disney saga...

Anniversaries are the only day you'll get anything FREE at DL!

Thanks for sharing that! That's one thing I don't have in my collection. What a great day that was and a nice encapsulation of the events. Hard to believe so many years have already passed!

I keep hoping somebody will come up with video of the "Parade of Jones's" that they did prior to the Grand Opening for Indy. They invited a bunch of families with the last name of "Jones" and congregated them on Main Street. Some were on a float and some were on foot. They started to parade down Main Street towards the Castle, ultimately headed for the attraction, I think. Near the end of Main Street, a bad guy came out and tried to stop them from proceeding. Of course, Indiana Jones came and and interceded so that they are able to go on their way. I think Paul Pressler gave a speech or something, too. I was there, but, wasn't in the right place to see the part with Indy, so I've always wanted to see some video of it.

Geeeeeh! I was only 14 at the time!

1995 was a big year for the park. Indiana Jones was a big deal for the park. It was touted as the park's biggest attraction. Even the "40 Years of Adventures" logo used a font and color similar to Indiana Jones.

I remember the 40th like it was yesterday. My kids were much younger (as was I). I can't believe Indy has been there that long! Crazy! What a fun blast from the past. Thank you for sharing it.

I was there and I'm in the video!

Right after Randy Travis is singing happy birthday the video shows all of the crowd toward Main Street, I'm standing on the bench right behind, (or in this case, in front of Walt & Mickey). The blonde guy with the dark glasses on. Wow, never new I was filmed.
