  • [Idea] A small, but potentially beneficial idea for Paradise Pier

Not wanting to derail the California Adventure Project Tracker, I have started this thread to share an idea I have for PP.

As it stands, the only candy shop, I believe, is in Sunshine Plaza, which, although being a good location, is not enough. Why not remove the remaining Games of the Boardwalk, and replace them with a period-appropriate candy shop, making and selling candies that were popular back in the heyday of the classic seaside amusement parks. Of course, there would be some more modern treats, but mostly it would focus on fresh made: taffy, cotton candy, fudge, lollipops, etc. etc. I think you get the idea.

Again, it is a relatively small addition, that I feel is possible, and would add greatly to the new Paradise Pier (or even the current one. Just make sure it's themed to fit in with the finished new Paradise Pier). Plus, you can't actually buy candy that is fresh-made in California Adventure; only the stuff made in Disneyland, and pre-packaged, factory made things, are available right now.

i think that's be really cool. one of those little things that would definitely help the theming of that area. maybe instead of replacing the midways games though, just replace that big shirt store.

Yeah, we've talked about the need for a good candy shop and ice cream parlor on the boardwalk. My idea was to add it along with a villains themed flume ride in South-west corner of PP. The shop would have kind of a comical villains theme, where you were offered fiendoushly tempting delights.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

That sounds fun, Uncle Bob! )

But, I was just thinking of a traditional candy shop. :shy:
