  • [Chat] When the Testing Begins, will the walls go down??

ISAW is getting close to filling up its flume and starting tests. The gardeners as well are making sure all of the hedges are in ship-shape. Does this herald that the walls will come tumbling down as early as September with nothing but a sign saying that ISAW won't be sailing today and that Disney characters have taken over????

P.S. Those few words were not a rant.

Usually they do take down the walls, but with IASW they may not because it may give people the idea it's open. I'm not really sure on this one...

I think that this is correct. If they take down the walls the area will be swarmed with guests asking if the ride is open. I do think after summer if the ride is fully operational they may take down the walls and do some test runs during the slower months like October (I hope anyways).

I doubt they will take down the walls until they are ready to do soft openings. Maybe a day or two before just so they can get the area really cleaned up. I wouldn't expect the walls around the ride to go down until mid Nov.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I hope the walls come down soon or at least the scaffolding. It looks so awful. Walt wanted a wiener to draw people around the Park, and the giant green wall of scaffolding is about as unattractive wiener as it gets. Makes for great pictures... NOT!

Yes, but why have such a prominent wienie (not wiener) when the attraction it advertises is down? That facade needs all the care it can get.

Everything needs to be refurbished. So it's either that, or an ugly looking "wiener" (actually wieny).

^ Exactly. Things were refurbished like that (though not exactly) during Walt's time too.

Disney usually takes down the walls only a few days before opening. I don't think this will be any different.
