  • Carousel of Progress Question

Did it have an attraction poster? I swear I saw a small picture of its poster of it once but it was very blurry and was it from Disneyland or Walt Disney World? Anybody have a picture of it?

I don't have a picture, not do I own a copy of the actual poster, but there was one and a collector friend of mine has it. It looks like this:

You mean WAS? I loved it too, when it was cool and complete and wonderous - especially Progress City.

I find it wierd that Mr. Toad's Wild Ride never had an attraction poster.

Yup, I agree... And Progress City is not in the WDW version now. (Did it ever? I don't remember...)

If it did, it hasn't had it for awhile...

Hiddngoofy, it is my favorite too! I never liked the orginal DL music "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow"-- I much preferred "Now is the Time"...

Progress City is kind of with the Carousel of Progress. It is visible as a brief display along the the TTA route.

Well, it is a mere part of Progress City. They lost a whole bunch of this magical place somewhere along the move.

"From the Good Old Days...To the Possible Present"

It's kind of funny that today's "good old days" are really what passed for the "present" they were referring to! Disneyland is so old that it's fun to see how its attractions have aged. For instance Main Street, USA was really based on streets that only was 40-50 years old at the time...now it's 50 years old itself! The "future" of outer space in Tomorrowland is so commonplace and everyday now, people really only go into space now to launch new TV satellites or something mundane. Then there's General Electric that sponsored the attraction. I'm sure GE wouldn't be so eager to sponsor an attraction today given that it owns NBC, which owns Universal, which owns Universal Studios.

My how times have changed. Fortunately the important parts of Disneyland never do.
