This was in the Around Disney section of the Orange County Register this morning and I think it has valuable info that some MCer's might not yet know about keeping cool at DL.

Hate to burst your bubble, but it's likely that in September, the weather will be hot. The heat can even seep into December sometimes.
Remember the October '07 Wildfires? Heat in October for ya.

That's right. September is blazing hot. Things usually don't start to significantly cool off until mid October.

I like to start the day in the cool of the morning -- lining up at the main gates an hour before official opening -- and then retreat to an air-conditioned hotel room in the middle of the day. After a refreshing swim, shower and nap, I'm ready to enjoy the evening!

Good tips! I especially recommend going for a ride on the Haunted Mansion when it gets hot and you need a break...short line, pervasive AC, great attraction, lots of rerideability...

We went on Saturday 8/23 and it was humid and hot.....but once the sun started to set, it got soooooooooo nice.

                    Go early in the AM
or in the twilight of day......to avoid the direct sunshine/heat.

Or - just don't go when it's hot - period.

Maybe 15,16 plus years ago, I was at DLand when it was, as I recall, 114 degrees. (I'm thinkin' it was July.) Yes, 114 degrees. Probably the hottest day ever in Anaheim. Went with friends from out of town. We survived partially because we while we knew it was hot we didn't know just how hot it was. And we survived because what's a little heat to Lovers of the Mouse?

(OK you may all start telling me I'm wrong, but trust me on this. Give or take a degree or two... 114 bloomin' degrees! It was so hot... "How hot was it?" It was so hot that when I got home my carpeting had pulled up from the padding and curled.)

I live in Tucson, AZ...I dont consider September in SoCal hot.

Off topic, there is no such thing as pushing the easy button "too fast." Thats actually how I prefer it. ; )

I agree with Werner. My kids and I like to start as early as possible (Early Entry if it's offered), then have either a late breakfast or early lunch, and try to keep some FastPasses to use just before we take our afternoon break.

The kids don't always nap, but we always go back to the hotel for a swim. They laugh at me because I keep rotating between the pool, spa, and lounge chair.

Sometimes we'll even take a second break in the late afternoon / early evening, just to take our shoes off and grab a snack.

A swim, shower, and nap (even for only a few minutes) makes all of the difference in the world on a hot summer day.

My favorite place to cool off is in the Innoventions/Dream Home building. You can stay there as long as you want and there is so much to do. Yay Guitar Hero!

Disneyland too hot for you? Haunted Mansion, and Enchanted Tiki Room. Both are cool, last a while, and one has ghosts, and the other has creepy tiki god carvings that sing at you! Can't beat that.
when the spooks have a midnight jamboree....
