  • Star Tours and inclement weather?

I noticed today that on Star Tours' official attraction page, it says, "during inclement weather this attraction may not be operating." Isn't the entire thing indoors?

Acutally, no. When you board your StarSpeeder, you take a flight to the Moon of Endor. You must not have been paying attention.

It IS possible that rain could delay your flight. After all, those starspeeders are almost 30 years old.

Just like a snowstorm in Chicago can have a cascading effect on airline flight schedules all over the country, Star Tours can be similarly affected by dust storms on Tatooine, ice storms on Hoth, or Death Star debris raining down on Endor ......

i thought i heard that if enough water collects on the walkways into the actual ride (ie, you're in the big dark room but not yet in the starspeeder) it'll throw an error. if it's raining, people can track enough water in to set it off.

                      i think i heard that

That's true. It happened to our StarSpeeder once. When we were just about to start, the CM came through the doors and told us there was too much H2O on the exit walkways, and that we were supposed to go on a different simulator.

On a good note, they turned the "lights" on (it's still pretty dark in there with the lights on.)

It definitly must be a mistake. Even though I've never been to Disneyland when it rains, I would think that Star Tours would be a popular choice to go to when is starts to rain.

I've been on Star Tours when it's raining heavily. Made no different to anything.

Actually I'm not sure why I went to the park when it was raining I was miserable, but anyway lol.
