  • [Fun] Making magic at Disneyland, thoughts of special things to do to add magic to your day

I just though of sharing some of the things that I have done at the park that I wanted to share. Of course I think you may of course already know all this but here it goes anyways.

in no particular order but I will number it anyways
    • 1) Take the Horse carriage to the castle
    • 2) Take the Fire Engine
    • 3) take the Omni Bus
    • 4) watch the silent films in the Cinema
    • 5) Make a wish at the wishing well to the right of Cinderella's castle.
    • 6) Take a night cruise on the Mark Twain, stand on the top deck and watch the fire works show (only possible when Fantasmic is on Hiatus)
    • 7) Explore the bottom deck of the Columbia.
    • 8) Ride the canoes!
    • 9) Take a late night cruise on Pirates (see if you can keep awake!)
    • 10) Put 10 cents in the music box at MainStreet station and listen to the whole song.
    • 11) Get a doleWhip and watch the TikiRoom show.
    • 12) Eat at the Blue Bayou on the waterside seating.
    • 13) Get a cut out portrait of you and your family made on main street.
    • 14) Attend the flag lowering ceremony and shake the hands of the Veterans.
    • 15) Shake any veterans you meet in the parks hands (you could recognize the Veterans who might be wearing hats detailing there service) I met a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack on the USS Arizona that way! What a honor!
    • 16) Walk from the parking structure to the park, its great exercise!
    • 17) Wait in a standby line just for the fun of it and remember the old days! Makes you appreciate fast pass more!
    • 18) Ride the carousel.
    • 19) go on every single dark ride!
    • 20) Remember the power of a dream, Walt Dreamt the park and now 53 plus years later here it is and as beautiful as ever!
    • 21) See Sleeping Beauty on the big screen at the El Capitan if you get a chance. (not a DL related item but still!)
    • 22) Kiss your significant other on the middle of the stairs at the Courtyard of the angels at night.
    • 23) listen to the music and clap at the Market in New Orleans square.
    • 24) Ride the train for the grand circle tour around the magic kingdom.
    • 25) Say hi to Oscar at Carnation Cafe.

    26) Ride on the Lily Belle. Ask nicely.
    27) Sit on the NEWS in front of SB Castle and watch the fireworks.
    28) Get a Bavarian Pretzel and a Bratwurst at the Fantasyland Theater.
    29) Sit on Coke Corner and watch/listen to the Ragtime pianist.
    30) Look up above Snow White's ride and see the Wicked Queen emerge from behind the curtains, only to disappear again.
    31) Ride Pooh, enter the Honey Room, look back over the doorway and see Max, Buff and Melvin. Then deservedly lament that attraction's passing.
    32) Pull on the Bamboo in Indy's que.
    33) Look for hidden Mickey's.
    34) Stare at the window above the Firehouse and imagine Walt looking out at his Park, and his guests enjoying his Park.
    35) Admire the topiaries in front of IASW and the amount of effort and TLC that goes in to them.
    36) Sit on the porch of the old "bra" store and watch a parade or just the guests go by.
    37) Look for guests who are looking at their map and help them. We were first timers once, too.

Thanks so much! I love those additions! Quick question what is sitting on the NEWS watching the fireworks? What is the "NEWS"?
      Thanks so much again!

Between the HUB, and across the street towards the Castle, dead center of the transition area to the draw bridge is a North-East-West-South diagram on the floor.

          39) Take photos of every backstage glimpse, hitherto unseen views, and generally weird stuff that no one else likes to photograph.

Sorry, it's the same knee-jerk reaction you'll always get from me in threads like this.

            38) Always wave at the characters in the parades.
            39) Take a moment to hug a character. No photo, no autograph, just a hug.
            40) Look at the droid in the Star Tours que who is soldering another droid, and remember that he was once a singing goose from a quartet of geese from America Sings.
            41) Stop and read the placque at the base of the flag pole in Town Square.
            42) Swing by Town Hall to get a birthday pin for yourself, a friend or a loved one. The CM's wish you a "Happy Birthday" all day long.
            43) Read the tomb stones and stauary in the HM que.
            44) If you aren't feeling well, stop by the First Aid "Infirmary". Those ladies will greet you warmly and help with what ails you.
            45) If you need to tend to a baby's needs, the Baby Center is next door to First Aid. It's to the right (East) of the photo center, past the corn dog wagon.
            46) When you are in line for Space Mountain, and you are passing the arcade on the right (Starcade), look in the vacant upper area and see a full scale "X"-Wing fighter suspended from the ceiling.
            47) While riding the Matterhorn, and you wizz through the ice cavern, notice the tribute to the late Frank Wells. He was Disney's CFO, and Eisner's counter balance, until his death in a climbing accident.
            48) Ride both sides of the Matterhorn and see if you can figure out which side is better.
            49) Walk behind Dumbo and enjoy the antique circus caliope.
            50) Walk along Big Thunder Trail, pause at the pond at the scene of the wrecked mine train, and look for jumping fish.
            51) Go see a show at the Golden Horse Shoe and sit in Walt and Lily's box.

              (52) Pass on a dream that was recently won to a much needier group.

our dream ears will be put to good use by that family that exited snow white with terrified children

Excellent gesture! Isn't it awesome to make children happy, especially at the Happiest Place On Earth, and to be a part of a memory that will last both of your lifetimes. Great job!

That's so sweet! Out of all the characters you played, which one got the most hugs?

Buy a Mickey shaped balloon, then at the end of the day - let it go.
