  • [Question] So... PoTC Auction Show Scene...

On the wall behind the red head, kind up up the steps where The Auctioneer is standing, there is a poster that reads: "Auction today..." etc. At the bottom, it says "All proceeds to go to US of A"

We tried to get a picture of this but failed but that's what it said through the camera viewfinder. I'm wondering if anyone can shed light on this. Does it really say that? What would be the meaning behind this. Wouldn't the proceeds of the sale of the women go to the Auctioneer himself? Is this a gag of some sort?

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Yeah, I had never noticed it before either. I spent a lot of time this trip looking at things in the background of scenes and trying to notice things I hadn't necessarily seen before. It was a lot of fun. This one caught me off guard though.

Ok, so that first pic Mojave posted a link to (thanks Davelandweb), I blew it up and this is what we get:

It looks like PSS of A or FSS of A.

So what does this stand for?

Were there any Imagineers that worked on POTC with these initials? And if so, were they from Anaheim?

That's interesting, I think I've seen the writing, but never noticed what it said. If anyone knows what that means I'll be impressed.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.
