  • [Question] Disneyland Christmas Loop Music

Hello, we are new to Mice Chat although we have viewed the website for many years. We live near the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, Northern Australia. We visited Disneyland last December for 14 days (not long enough). This was our 5th vacation to the DL Resort in CA. Since then we have been trying to find the beautiful Christmas music that is played on Main Street. We have found Al Lutz's link to the list of the music, but are having a lot of trouble obtaining the music. We do have a CD, A Music Box Christmas, on order from the USA. However the rest of the music is proving almost impossible to obtain. We can find some of the MP3's to download but we cannot download from outside the USA. The music is unavailable in Australia. Can anyone suggest how we might collect this wonderful music?
Many thanks and we always love viewing your roundup every week. Best Wishes, Cindamocha & Family

You just have to keep hunting. All the tracks are out there, from different sources. I've found all the tracks, but some of them have problems that bother me, so I am still hunting down better and cleaner copies of the source LPs. I'm a bit of a perfectionist at this sort of thing, but the end result is well worth it.

      A reminder from our FAQ's:

What kind of materials can I post?
There will be times when you want to share something you found on the Internet with your fellow MiceChatters. Sharing is indeed caring. But, please be careful - there may be hurdles for you to jump. When you post information, an image, video or audio file from another source, make sure you are not posting content that is copyrighted. Such materials being shared and distributed without the consent of the person who owns the copyrights to the item in question is not allowed. This includes pictures from other websites. If you wish to discuss a picture, post a link to the site's page that the picture is on, and not the picture itself. Always make sure that you credit the original source of information which is not your own. Finally, check the terms of the site you found the information on - they will usually explain what can and can't be shared and how it should be cited.

MiceChat reserves the right to delete content (or credit it for you), that we feel violates general copyright principles. Members are reminded to use the "Report Post" button to alert us to possible copy right infringement.

Please remember that links to sites where files can be downloaded will be removed per our site policy. MiceChat for obvious legal reasons does not condone or allow the posting of sites that have the potential for illegal downloading or copyright infringement. Links or references to other sites that also have forums may also be removed per policy.

      Thanks.

Thank you. I will await the arrival of my purchased CD and just keep looking for other CD's too. Perhaps Amazon might have something. Best Wishes.

Well, two songs (other than Rita Ford's) are readily available:

You can order the Hollywood Bowl's Music of Christmas right off Amazon. "Carol of the Bells" is the relevant song from the Main Street Loop.

Amazon.com: Music of Christmas: Hollywood Bowl Orchestra: Music

It seems like a lot of money to pay for just one song from the loop, but I can assure you, you'll like all the other (non-loop) songs on that album, too. I checked that album out of the library, last year, and it's spectacular, in each and every song.

The Hollyridge Strings, "Jingle Bell Rock" is available off a new re-released album from Collectors Choice, which you can order right here:

          Collectors' Choice Music

          So that's two songs.

Some of the Lawrence Welk is available, but some not. I wasn't clear about Al's statements on Lawrence Welk.

I'd kill to get my hands on Felix Slatkin. I love that upbeat, chirpy version of his Deck the Halls .

Raymond Lefevre's Petit Papa Noel, off the loop, is one of the best versions I've ever heard of that. I can't seem to find anyone else with a good instrumental version.

And of course, I've been begging for David Rose Orchestra for years, and not just David Rose Christmas. David Rose has a lot of non-Christmas songs which I love but can't find.

          Whaddya gonna do ????

If I remember correctly, I believe there are a few in this boxed set.

The source albums are readily available, either on ebay or GEMM.com. I found them all, for less than $15 total:

                  Re: Disneyland Christmas Loop Music

Neither Gemm nor E-bay has David Rose, Ed Sullivan, or Felix Slatkin.

Raymond Lefevre seems widely available, on E-Bay, though. I'm not sure about Lawrence Welk, since there are several different albums each with different renditions of what could be loop songs.

What I recommend that you do is to save a search for the hard-to-find items on your 'My eBay' page. That way, if a seller puts one up for sale, you will receive an email notification from eBay advising you that there is one available (either as an auction or as a buy now).

I wouldn't get my hopes up, though, regarding Rose, Sullivan and Slatkin.
