    [Fun] DL Ride Survey RESULTS

Thank you to the 120 or so folks who so kindly took the time to take my Disneyland Ride Survey!

First, if you'd like to download a PDF of the ranking along with people's comments, click here. Please do download it - it's fun! (and it took a long time!)

Secondly, if you'd like to download an Excel file with all the data, click here.

Thirdly, if you didn't receive an email from me today with the results, it's because I lost the emails from the first 23 people who took the survey. If you can't download the files, PM me with your email and I'll send them to you.

Finally, your rankings of all the rides of Disneyland!

The attractions that are consistent with every bottom 5 of the list:
      1. Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh 2.37
      2. Gadget's Go Coaster 2.31
      3. Autopia 2.24
      4. Astro Orbiter 1.91

Doesn't surprise me. Thanks for putting this together!

        I feel like a pancake.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the results. Star Tours could use some love, but then again, that's true of the state of the attraction, too...for now.

eh, I disagree with the Gadget stance. It is a fun little coaster and adds some much-needed kinetics to Toontown. When it doesn't have a huge line, I go on it multiple times in a row. In fact, I once went on it 42 times in a row.

Oh, and when you are on, close your eyes.

          Feels just like Space Mountain.

Nice work, and I know it's real because I found one of my own comments in the PDF!

Thanks - only about 17 people left comments, so I didn't have too much to work with.

For those who aren't downloading the PDF, I give the ratings and some comments about each ride. For instance:

                Alice in Wonderland
                Execution 3.19
                Beauty 3.12
                Fun-ness 2.79
The "dark ride treasure" taking you "down the rabbit hole" was called "brilliantly quirky" and praised for its "multi-level" indoor-outdoor layout, but lost points for being "so slow."

                Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
                Execution 3.66
                Beauty 3.69
                Fun-ness 3.73
Called "perfect" and "one of the best" with an "immersive" "Old West feeling," "great scenery and awesome turns" that combine with the "most comfortable attraction seats in the park" to make it the "best family thrill ride."

                it's a small world
                Execution 3.15
                Beauty 3.13
                Fun-ness 2.53
While "Rosie O'Donnell is less annoying" to some, others "love to sing along" with this "classic" that is "perfect for what it is" and has become "synonymous with Disneyland" and "always makes me smile."

                Splash Mountain
                Execution 3.79
                Beauty 3.80
                Fun-ness 3.79
Voters were split as some "wish you would get a bit more wet" while others think it "would be more fun if soaking was not an option." Everyone seemed to agree that it is the "best log ride ever" and it "keeps you entertained."

I was surprised Splash Mountain finished so high and that Buzz finished so low.

Splash always has a long line, but I rarely see it discussed here at all. Buzz finished really high on Fun-ness, but low on the other 2 criteria, which does make sense, but I bet it would be in the top 10 if I just asked "what's your favorite ride?"

Buzz is a decent ride. I just think the design direction of it is all wrong.

Yep. It'd work nicely if it were placed in a land where it made thematic sense, if more money were invested in immersive and realistic scenery, and if the aim of the guns was more predictable.

                            1. Go try visiting Splash Mountain after nine in the evenin'. I can promise you the line will be much, much shorter.

                            2. If a ride is discussed here, it's probably due to some sort of problem posed by the ride, be it mechanical, thematic, or otherwise.

Thanks for putting this together, I can actually understand all of the results.

I had no question that "nemo" would be the lowest ranked "E-Ticket" and that Astro Orbiter would be ranked last period (since HISTA wasn't there).

I agree with you, I love Gadgets. But when compared to the rest of the rides at DL, it's just another roller-skater.

Yes, but the theming pulls it over the top of all roller skaters. I don't know of any roller skaters that have caves, waterfalls, water-spitting frogs, tinker-toy supports, a simulated pulley system for the lift hill, and oversized combs, brushes, dominos, and matchboxes as gates and fences.

If anything, it's the best rollerskater around. But it does scream Disney with the extensive theming.

Interesting to see Peter Pan ranked so low.

It would be great if we got similar results from casual/vacation visitors and then compare. I am sure the many MC biases would show up if you could compare side to side.

I enjoyed reading some of the comments left.

I think the one thing that kills it is that it's aimed for the kids. And how they did it was to make it too dang short. It has the same height requirements as say matterhorn even.
