  • [Question] Haunted Mansion question

When I was little, I remember seeing red eyes in the stretch room where the
skeleton hangs now. From what I've heard it's always been the skeleton. Was it
just my imagination, or did it once have red eyes?

I don't remember anything like that, but maybe our resident HM experts will.

I'm pretty sure it's always been Master Gracey hanging in the rafters.

That's the Ghost Host up there. There's no indication that the Ghost Host is Master Gracey.

No, I'm pretty sure it was before they started doing HMH.

You mean this site? It's all the work of fans. Cool stuff, but not official in any way. We've discussed the Master Gracey issue numerous times in the three incarnations of The Thread. It's a name from a tombstone that people have taken out of context. "Master" doesn't necessarily mean "master of the mansion." It can refer to any male, really, even a young boy. And the fact that the Gracey name was purposely removed from a "letter" from the Ghost Host during the WDW mansion's refurb further indicates that WDI does not officially equate the Ghost Host to Mastery Gracey. The only "official" evidence is Edward Gracey in the film. But the film had plenty of issues that make it an unreliable source at best.

Not really sure. I vaguely remember the gargoyles having red eyes, that's about it. Not sure if they still do.

It has always been the skeleton, no red eyes anywhere in the room.
