  • It's all about the details!

Many of us love DL because it's so cozy! Well coziness comes from limited space and making the most of that space with immersive details.

Main Street....so we can take a few steps back in time when things were simpler. It's always such a nice stroll. Whether window shopping or actually going in to the shops. CM's are extremely nice in all the shops and eaterys. Can re-live childhood memories on that street, since it really hasn't changed all that much over the years....thank goodness!

I love the Disneyland ground work. Every land has a different themed floor.
        &
        The transions between lands.

Definetely the music...DL is the only place where you can have your own unique "theme" music with each step you take.
Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
          Marge: Pink.
          Homer: D'oh!
Marge: "If ye test should fail, to a doctor set sail!"

I appreciate the incredibly intricate details that are put into every attraction, the ones that could go unnoticed for your first fifty times through until someone points it out to you.

For example, some of the nearly inaudible dialog in the auction scene in POTC, or the fact that there are dozens of different individual recordings of "Grim Grinning Ghosts" blended together in the graveyard scene, creating an overall ambiance that's impossible to gain otherwise.

These are the things that Walt knew were essential to making an attraction have depth and a feeling of reality. Without them the story ends up feeling flat and lifeless.

I really love all the costumes. During the winter months cast members wear some of the most beautiful coats. I know its not on this poll but I really enjoy the use of color through out the park too.
                Oh and the music................

I think the most important detail about the lands of Disneyland are the themes themselves. The themes are all distant.... either in place or time. I don't care how many details you add to "generic amusement pier", it is still just a generic amusement pier.

The trashcans have always made me laugh. i would have never thought of something like that if I had been setting up a park. It really is a nice way to make something so nececary seem like it's not even there.

I love the music the most. The theming of the lands wasn't a choice, but should be first and foremost!

I love the music throughout the lands, although I don't always realize its playing until I stop and actually listen for/to it.

I think one of the best ways music has been used at the park is the old Space Mountain music. When I think of Disneyland music, that rocking song would so be the theme. I had a music file of the beginning of it on my computer some years back and I'd listen to it before I went to DL to get me in the mood. I am hoping when they re-open it, it will still have similar music during the ride.

Also, the Tarzan tree thing has some great music too. It certainly adds to the atmosphere.
i caught you a delicious bass.
