Under what circumstances does Disneyland do the Welcome to Our Family Time rope drop at opening?

I heard someone say that when the park opens at 9 or 10 AM.

I believe they do. I was there at opening once when they had the rope up and then there was a separate entrance for Magical Mornings.

I have to agree with Dan-Tasmic! on this one... I was there in October and they did the rope drop during a Magic Morning. They just re-routed all the traffic to the left side of Main Street. It was cool to watch Main Street fill up and then empty out after the rope drop!

They did in January when we went for my Brothers Birthday. We were there for early magic hours and we were got to Adventure Land 5 mintues early so we had to wait for the whole park to open

We watched the family rope drop on the other side.

When I was a CM at AK we did it (even on Magic Mornings) at park opening.

Also, they're setup on most days to let people by the rope line for character breakfasts. Basically on Magic Mornings they're just letting more people by.
