  • Is it just me, or are the French Market's tables tiny?

I can't be the only one annoyed by the diminutive stature of the French Market's dining tables, can I?

They are quite small! If its packed and you are with family(especially children) it can be a little hard to eat in comfort! The tables look like the little sitting table on my back porch1

I mean they're really REALLY short. It's like why bother with a table, you might as well use your lap.

From what I remember, yes they are. I also thought that the one's outside the BackStage Grill (I think that's what it's called) were small too. But in their defense they are a counter service and the sitting is for anyone.

Yeah I ate there earlier tonight and i must say I was quite displeased with the whole experience (except Fantasmic was playing the background which gave a nice ambience). Its kinda pricey, the tables were uncomfortably short and the food was less than desirable. I thought Id try something new so I got the pasta with the meaty creamy stuff sauce... needless to say I wont be getting that dish again. I should have stuck with the chicken. I didnt even get a julep! *sigh*

Next time try to clam chowder or beef stew. Delish.

I've always thought that the tables and ambience was attempting to mirror the New Orleans style and patio dining. Not unlike the Cafe Du Monde, and those tables were almost always blanketed with powdered sugar!
Rent Runaway Jury sometime and get a laugh from the scene with Dustin Hoffman scarfing beignets before meeting Rachel Weisz!

I never noticed that the tables are short, maybe because I'm so short, but I hate that the lamp is fixed to the middle of the table and you can't move it to make more room. I mean, I totally understand WHY it is attached to the table, but when everyone has their own tray, there has to be some major juggling before you can start eating.
