  • The Monorail Game

Has anybody seen this at DL yet?

We saw it last night and HAD to get it.

I guess it's a "Retro" game that they used to sell and it has been brought back for the 50th.

    The tag says:

"Explore the early days of Walt Disney's original Magic Kingdom park with this exclusive re-release of the original Disneyland Park Monorail Game"

Available for a Limited Time only.

The kids and I are going to play it tonight. I will post how it is later.

      Re: The Monorail Game

^ I can't take one right now. The wife is in Oakland on business and she has the digital camera. The soonest I can take pics would be Tuesday.

      Sorry.

I did find a site about it though ...

      http://www.souvenirland.net/gamemono.html

They also have it on MouseShoppe for $20 ... It's $15 at the park.

      Can they do that???

It's been out for a while, and most of us know about it. However, nobody's posted any pictures of the board and pieces or given any review about it. Let us know how it plays.

Oh this game is adorable! I have the original. Very sweet indeed. I have seen the new ones however, and they look to be just like the originals in every way but the age spots and that odd smell that comes with everything "vintage"! :ap: Enjoy it!

              Re: The Monorail Game

My parents bought it on a recent trip to Disneyland. They have it in the park (Emporium) and probably at The World of Disney. I didn't get a chance to play it, but it's pretty straight forward. Probably considered a "boring game" by today's standards, but I love anything Disney, including games. It does look very "vintage". By the way, anyone have the Nintendo game "The Magic Kingdom". That is an all time fave of mine!

Yes!! My brother and I used to play it all the time I loved to play the space mountain part of the game. We beat it but never saw the parade at the end.

I want this game! I saw at DLR on the 7/17 and was sad that I did not have enough money. *sadface*
Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!

                        Re: The Monorail Game

I bought one a few months ago at the park for my game cabinate. I opened it right away and tried to get my then girlfriend to play. She refused and I haven't had a chance to play it since. I'd be curious to see a review of how much fun the game is. I did buy and play A Pirate's Life and found it somewhat dull, but then I never much cared for the game of Life. I have always loved the game of Clue and am thinking of getting the Haunted Mansion Clue game next.

I've wondered about the Haunted Mansion Clue game. I haven't read the purpose of the game, but is it about a murder mystery? I figured it wasn't but who knows. Maybe it's just my friends and I, but we found it funny to say, "It was MICKEY, in the library, with the candlestick!" We are weird!

                            Good morning, son
                            In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                            It was pain
                            Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

We bought one on May 5th in the 50th gift shop on the backside of the castle. My kids are 4 and 7 and they both enjoy it. Fun to play.
