  • [Question] Will there be live music on the Pier?

This is more of a curiosity question then anything else. I've looked over all the Beer Garden artwork, and the various Pier concepts and I was left wondering this question... The time period is roughly the same as Carnation Plaza, if not a tad earlier, and the Beer Garden would be the most appropriate place... but thus far I have heard nothing either way... so does anyone know if PP will have live music once it "reopens"?

I sure hope so!!! From the concept art of the beer garden, it looks like that little stage would be the perfect place for live entertainment!!! Great question!!!

Count me in as one who hopes that there is a live band.

It's just one of those things that is sorely missed at DCA - a true live band.
(I think they have something over by GRR (bango-playing if I recall?), but besides that, DCA doesn't have much in the terms of live (music) outside entertainment.)

A live band would be fantastic. Live music is one of the things in Disneyland that gives it so much atmosphere........it's wonderful to walk through New Orleans Square and hear a jazz band playing on the stage at French Market.......or to walk through Tomorrowland and here a band on stage there at Tomorrowland Terrace....or making your way to Frontierland or just walking around the castle and listening to a Big Band swing the night away from Carnation Plaza Gardens.......creates such an atmosphere of fun.

Yeah - DCA needs this atmosphere!

Music makes everything better. Live music makes it even better. I'm all for live music. If it will happen, I don't know.

Re: Will there be live music on the Pier?

I noticed a lack of live entertainment in DCA as well. With exception of:

              Miner 49ers (Grizzly)
              Brother Bear (Grizzly)
Marachi (Wharf. Not sure if they're still around)
Chance to Shine (was in HPB)
Wave Riders (was in HPB, parade route)
Drawn to Animation (apparently now cut)
Goofy show in Backlot Theater (was in HPB, there's a youtube video)
Lilo & Stitch?? (not sure if there was a REAL show)

              Of course Hyperion Theater.

For the PP, I was thinking a group of singers could stroll down the boardwalk in a quadri-cycle of some sort, stop, sing, then stroll away.

I think Tokyo DisneySea has some sort of group in their American Waterfront/ Cape Cod area. They also have a really neat "Donald's Boatbuilders" show.

Not only live PP music, but atmosphere like balloon artists, silt walkers, jugglers, etc. But that probably is more entertainment.

With food, corn on the cob is a great introduction. Although I saw a $4.75 price. Haven't tried it yet.

              I'm rambling.

Yes, I hope the "Beer Garden" stage contributes to some nice outdoor entertainment shows. I was also thinking maybe a real live calliope with the stage (piano-like instrument that produces sound by steam through whistles. Like the lion uses in the Electrical Parade). This would kind of be a call back to Main Street's piano player.
