  • [Chat] Time Machine!

(To the Moderators: if this thread isn't in the right place, I'm terribly sorry for making things difficult inch

So here's a question for everyone, just for kicks!

I've invented a Disneyland specific time machine! What would you like to go see? Which defunct/prior version ride would you like to go on again? It can be as general or as specific as you'd like!

Personally, I think it would be nice to see the pre-gold Tomorrowland. Apparently it's been erased from my childhood memories and I can't remember a thing! Also, it'd be pretty nifty to spend a day at Disneyland during the period when Walt Disney himself would oversee things!

I'm looking forward to reading some really creative responses :cgrin:!!

I want to see the park pre-1959. I'm not so interested in riding any attractions that aren't there anymore, but in seeing the early park, seeing what WAS there before what is there. In particular, I'd like to walk around pre-BTMRR Frontierland, then over the bridge to the Plantation House and see where the old Indian Village and Frontierland Station were.

I'd seriously stand there for as long as I could just taking it all in. I know that sounds dorky, but that's what I'd do.

After that, I'd like to walk early Tomorrowland.

I would enjoy multiple visits in 1954 to view the progress of Disneyland's construction. I would then probably do 3 trips or so every year to see the changes over time.

I'd love to see Skull Rock and the ship with the restaurant inside.

OOOH, I would love it if the Sunkist lemonade place came back. That lemonade was so delicious. Made with fresh lemons and lots of pulp!

Oooh, ooooh, wait...remember when the shooting gallery shot actual b b's? They were in a metal tube that was filled by the CM and the gun was locked in a metal loop so you couldn't shoot outside the gallery.

          Those were the days.

P.S. Not even gonna mention the People Mover...that's a given!

Off to the 60's version of Frontierland! Mine train, Mules, Stagecoach, Golden Nugget saloon with Wally Boag, shooting galleries with real "bullets", and the Frito Bandito corn chip dispenser. Then maybe opening day of the new tomorrowland, 70's version.

I really miss Country Bears also. oh well...

I'd zap back to September 1969 first of all right after the Mansion opened up. So I could also see the new Tomorrowland that opened up the year before and the fairly new Pirates ride!..Also go back to 79' when BTMRR opened right before I was born that year to ride the fairly new Space Mtn. as well! If only!

                    Re: Time Machine!

In my first trip to Disneyland in 1982 the new Fantasyland was under construction, I would like to see the old one with the pirate's ship.
Also it would be exciting to ride the people mover and the Skyway to Fantasyland again.
The rocket rods were great too !!!
I would have loved to ride the flying saucers.
14 days to my next Disneyland trip.
                    It's a small world after all !!!!!!
First trip to Disneyland: June 1982
Favorite ride since always: Pirates of the Caribbean

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that got to see all those things and experience them personally. I'm also lucky in that I still have vivid memories of everyone of those rides and leaning back in my chair with my feet up on my desk I can relive those moments in time. One of my favorite's is re-riding the flying saucers. That was my girl friend and my (now my wife these 43 years) favorite ride. I also loved watching the guys fly the model airplanes.
I am lucky I don't need a time machine, it's in my mind and heart. Oh yeah, I was in love with Slu Foot Sue too and Wally Boag was the funniest man alive in my opinion.

I would like to go back to when Walt was acutally walking around and running the place too.

I would also like to go back and see the original sumbarine ride (no offence to finding nemo thou).

I would also want to go back to when Country Bear had first opened and go see one of the shows agian.

I'd love to go back and see the Carousel of Progress the way I hear it on A Musical History of Disneyland. Maybe go see The Golden Horseshoe Revue, too. Then I'd like to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade in its original glory.

Also, I'd love to time jump around the 90's and find characters that don't exist anymore XP

Haunted Mansion opening day, or the day after, 1969. Score some early Mansion merchandise and see the Hatbox Ghost in his rightful place...
