  • News Billy cut back! Get the tar and feathers

Well, in economically hard times tough choices must be made and Disneyland has made that tough choice.

Starting in February, Billy Hill and the Hillbillies will be reduced to 5 days a week with Tuesdays and Wednesdays being their days off. [Laughing Stock may take up the stage on those days].

The BLUE Team will still be on Sundays and Mondays. The GOLD Team will still be on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, but the GREEN team is no more! Even a bail-out from Obama couldn't help, so welcome to 2009 and go enjoy a few shows. Be sure and tell management how much you enjoyed the shows and see ya at the 'Shoe!

That's too bad. Even though I never see them on weekdays they are so good, I hate to think a big group of people won't get to experience it due to the day of the week.

I better go get my fill of that show soon. It is odd that they are cutting the show dates since I always see the GH packed when they perform.

One of the greatest acts ever... I love their shows. At least they are keeping most of it around. If they were cutting it completely, I'd be really ticked.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Someone send me a PM when it does, I'll be taking a well deserved break from MC.

At least they didn't cut them completely. Could have been much worse.

Um, they aren't gone yet are they.

No, It's A Small World is the first and last attraction I would ever do that for.

As sunnyg said, it could be a lot worse. We could have lost the billies all together, but we didn't.

Of course it stinks that there had to be cutbacks, but we should still look at the glass half-full.

Hmmmm, let's see, there's Billy, Billy, Billy, and Billy.
Then there's Billy, Billy, Billy and also Billy.
On occasion you may have seen Billy, Billy, Billy and Billy.
Also from time to time, filling in as a substitute would be Farley the Fiddler as (wait for it....) Billy.

                        Noooooo!!!

This is my absolute most favorite place to be when I go to the park. I love the Blue Team (I think that is the team where Kirk Wall is the lead Billy, also known as Elvis Billy). But, all that being said I'm not surprised. I was there on Wednesday for the 2:35 show and it was not as crowded as usual for the show. Heck, the crowds were light all over. They are cutting back on so much in entertainment right now. Hopefully things will be better and we can go back to a full schedule of shows later in the year. Looks like I will be visiting the park on Mondays now and not Wednesdays.

At least they didn't cut the whole show, it's a good thing its still around.

Actually, you have to wonder if the Billies aren't breathing a sigh of relief. That has to be a grind, doing the same lines again, and again, and again..

"We'd like to thank the California State Penitentiary for allowing us to be here today...."

By about the 500th time, that's got to start wearing on you a bit. I do hope they can keep paying their bills though. I think they're awesome, and the golden horseshoe is always one of our favorite dinner spots.

You know, one thing I noticed on Wednesday was that he left out a lot of things he usually says like the thank the California, etc. He also didn't seem to be quite on his game. The audience was not with it at the beginning though, which could be part of the reason or maybe they had just been told about the cut ... who knows, but the show did seem a bit different to me.

And I do agree that it's better to have some Billy than no Billy. I also know they play other gigs here and there besides Disneyland. For instance I understand Kirk has an Elvis show that he performs regularly somewhere in OC.
