  • [Question] Crowds on Inauguration Day and Super Bowl Sunday

Any idea what the crowds will be like on Tuesday? Will Obama's Inauguration cause a noticeable drop in crowds?

And what's the usual business on Superbowl Sunday. I'm sure the ESPN restaurant will be packed, but is that a good Sunday for dodging crowds?

Since it will be on the news all week long, screaming praise for the already decided greatest American President ever, why not just watch it on tv later in the night.

I wonder if Disneyland is going to do anything special for it. I doubt it because its at 4AM.

Re: Crowds on Inauguration Day and Super Bowl Sunday

From what I've read in recent years, there's no drop in attendance any more on Super Bowl Sunday. Packed as it almost always is any more.

And again, if you're coming that day, you may want to stop by the hub at noon. Can't tell you why. It's a secret.

And if you're up at 4AM to watch the inauguration chances are you'll have a great seat in front of the TV for when it happens five hours later.

Just to eliminate the confusion that seems to exist about this in your mind...

Much like the Super Bowl, there's a massive "pre-game" show beforehand.

The "pre-game" coverage begins at 6:30 AM Pacific.

The swearing-in, or actual inauguration ceremony, takes place at 12 Noon Eastern - 9AM Pacific.

              Why is this so hard?

              -- Barry

With this in mind, BACK TO TOPIC, since Disneyland won't even be open when the actual event takes place, I don't think it will have that much impact on that day's attendance.

I gave mine a couple of posts back. To repeat, the ceremony itself takes place a hour before the park opens. I don't see any real impact one way or the other from the event in Washington.

And again, may I share my "will it be crowded" philosophy...expect crowded. It is, more often than not these days. If it isn't, enjoy the pleasant surprise.

Does it really matter how big the crowds are at Disneyland on any given day? If you want to go, GO!
