  • [Other] Fantasmic! and it's dragon

So I was at the park this weekend and watched Fantasmic! on Saturday. When Maleficent is supposed to turn into a dragon... she didn't. Instead, she stayed on the big tower-thing and then "died". I'd at first though I had witnessed a dragon malfunction, but later was talking to a friend who worked at the park.
She said that they actually are not using the dragon for about a month longer, and then the show will not play again until summer. Then when they re-open, they're supposed to have a new dragon. Now, I'd thought they had replaced the dragon last year when they had Fantastmic! down. BUT it turns out the parts were not in and they did not replace it!
The new dragon is supposed to crawl out and climb up a castle they'll have as well. It sounds pretty interesting!

Just though I'd share that with you! : )
For certain you must be lost to find the places that can't be found. Elseways, everyone would know where it was.

Really? Climb over a castle? COOL!
    Everybody's got a laughin' place-
trouble is most folks won't take the time to go look for it.

Wow, sounds like one fancy dragon, I can't wait to see him.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

The dragon is a HER, not a "him".
It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".

                        hehe

Well, either way, the dragon is MIA...

We saw both shows last night and also in the recent past and no dragon, just lots of flames.

                            Re: Fantasmic! and it's dragon

The reason the dragon is not in the show is that Disney decided to go with a real dragon instead of an AA. But they are having problems training him (the dragon is a him, just playing a female dragon). In two out of three dress rehearsals during third shift the dragon flew across the RoA and ripped open a few parked OVCs trying to get at the popcorn and churos inside.

Management are trying to work out what to do, considering that the viewing public will most probably be carrying some of the afore mentioned foodstuffs.
                            Disney FAQ#275: What is DCA?
DCA stands for Disney Construction Area. All the Cast Members are themed with hard hats and steel toed boots.

It would appear as if I, too am very interested in the new dragon...

Darn you sub-conscious jumping on the bandwagon...
