  • [Question] Blue Bayou reservations

Is it possible to eat at the Blue Bayou without a prior reservation? Or is that place booked solid all year? How far in advance should you make reservations? Thanks!

I THINK you can walk up and try to get in, you may have to wait awhile. Reservations in advance can be made up to 60 days ahead of time, which is a good idea to do.

Normally they are pretty booked in advance. But you can call the disney dining number(714) 781-3463 the morning of your visit to see if there are any openings. Or go to BB as soon as you get to the park to be put on a wait list. Disney dining will let you book a reservation 60 days in advance.

        1. Yes. More possible on light days, but near impossible on busy days. Better at an unusual time than, say Noon. 3PM might be easier. As soon as they open would be even better. In short, do not count on being seated just walking up when you're hungry. Also, it's quite overpriced and not really worth all the effort. Storytellers had nice food at a reasonably overpriced rate, and we walked right in (weekday offseason).
        2. Yes. Enough that successful walk-ups are rare. In order to secure a revenue and cost stream, planning in advance is the best way for it to go.
        3. The first day you're allowed to. 90 days in advance, I think. That is, if your heart is really set on it.
        4. You're welcome!

          Re: Blue Bayou reservations

60 (SIXTY) days in advance through Disney Dining for priority seating arrangements.

We HIGHLY recommend P.S. arrangements when you want to eat at ANY of the sit-down/service restaurants at the Resort. We always do.

We sadly see way too many folks that want to enjoy a meal at the BB get turned away because they didn't have P.S. arrangements. And that includes both weekends and mid-week lately.

Don't get disappointed, make the arrangements!

If you want to eat there, you should call ahead. I have never been succesful at eating there without a prior reservation.

I think we've lucked out once or twice without a reservation, but I remember there being an extremely long wait. And I don't think they put aside tables for walk-ins, it's basically if someone who has a reservation doesn't show up, they shuffle in a walk-in.

Blue bayou opens at 11:30 correct? So the earliest time I can make for a reservation is 11:30?
Hoping to raise enough money to go to DL from Pennsylvania with my wife for our 5 year anniversary. (We went there on our honeymoon!)

If you would like to contribute to the cause for a relatively poor private school teacher. Please private message me. I'd be very thankful.

I don't know, but you can ask when you call.
What you really need to know is when the phone line opens 60 days before the day you want to make the reservation.

We just want to have a dessert there, and soak up the atmosphere for a while. You can book a reservation and only have dessert, right?

                      Re: Blue Bayou reservations

I made my reservations exactly 60 days in advance, for the BB in order to get my optimum time. I had no problem at all . I will be there 5/11/09 @ 12:40 pm. DisneyDine phone# has always helped.... sometimes even within the same day. Call them !

Does anyone know the name of the dessert at Blue Bayou that's shaped like a pirate boat (I think).

Thanks, Elly. I want to get that dessert, mainly to get some pics of it!

Oh yeah, and to eat it, too...

                              Re: Blue Bayou reservations

We made our reservations 30 days in advance for next week. There wasn't a problem, I gave her two days both with an 11:30 time slot and she told me they were wide open both days; which one did I want. That's when I decided I'd book both. What I'm really hoping is that my husband (who usually would rather spend more money and get a halfway decent meal) likes eating at the BB so much that we end up using both reservations. If not, I'll offer one to my sister. This way too if we are just too busy having fun the first day, we have a second reservation to fall back on.
