  • Mele Kalikimaka in the Tiki Room?

I would love for this to happen... there's so much potential for an Enchanted Tiki Room Holiday layover! There's Jimmy Buffet's Mele Kalikimaka that they could sing. And the little Bird Mobile that comes down with the cockatiels could be decorated as a tree (it's already shaped like a Christmas tree by design). And though it wouldn't be the most popular idea, I think Lilo and Stitch would make a great addition to this holiday overlay... maybe only as a cameo at the end when it's over and a sad Stitch (maybe a rising AA Stitch to temporarily replace the rising fountain during the overlay) dressed up as Elvis can sing Blue Christmas.

I would think one more song (maybe something traditional, "Chestnuts (or maybe Macademias) Roasting Over an Open Fire" comes to mind) and dialogue/plot filler would fill out the show to a 20 minute running time. Decorated pineapples, sandmen, strings of backlit seashell christmas lights, there's so many wonderful possibilities, it would work out great, IMO! With the Country Bear Vacation Holiday gone I think this would make a wonderful seasonal change to a classic DL attraction. They could even modify the existing theme song...

In the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room,
In the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room,
All the birds sing words and the flowers croon,
When it's a Mele Kalikimaka in the Tiki room.

    Welcome to our tropical holiday,
    You lucky people, you.
If we had snowmen, they would melt away,
And drift off into the ocean, too.

    All together!

In the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room,
In the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room,
All the birds sing words and the flowers croon,
When it's a Mele Kalikimaka in the Tiki room.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive.
If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

With all this talk of "off the shelf" and "on the back-burner" it seems the only thing that DCA is really missing is the kitchen sink!

    PLANT!

Kidding, kidding. But seriously, what's stopping Disney? The HM gets HMH, Space Mountain gets Rockit Mountain, Pirates gets whatever the heck Jim Hill writes about; why not put Christ into a tropical Polynesian setting - missionary style?!

Cool idea, I like it. What a great way to bring some (temporary) change to a classic. It's good classic innovative change, not what we've had more recently with destructive change.

That really is a good idea. It would spice up DL a little more at Christmas time.

Just remember without a well written Disney Villain, there would be no point in the Heroes and the Princesses. Have you hugged a Disney Villain today?

At Christmas time, Hawaiian Dancers could also entertain in the small courtyard of the Tiki Room.
