  • [Rumor] Monorail mark VII

I just read on wikipedia that the "new" monorails are acutally refurbished mark IIIs!!!! could this be disney's source of problems. they should just build completly new monorails, if this rumor is true of course. can any one confirm this? all so Tomorrowland is finally on its way to being great with a new star tours and people mover in the works!!

    Re: Monorail mark VII

Well, they are rebuilt Mark V's which were rebuilt Mark II's so yes. However, they only used the chassis of the Mark II's. The source of problems comes from trying to do fancy things with the new monorails instead of sticking to working on the mechanics. The only problems faced by the monorails now is heat due to lack of ventalation.

        Re: Monorail mark VII

Well, that was the case but things have sinced changed. Orange has completed testing and has the half windows from red and has been operating daily carrying guests for about a month now. Blue has been brought back into service without half windows and is taking limited capacity every day. Red has started its refurb, although I highly doubt it will be a year, and has not been in service for about a month.

Currently, there will be 2 train operaton for a while, unless one breaks down. No new word on new windows

Time for me to go update Wiki I guess...
