  • [Question] Disney Visa and Discounts

Hey guys, I have a quick question to anyone who might know. From my understanding if you have a Disney Visa you get 10% of dining. Now do you have to put the purchase on your Disney Visa card to get the 10% off? Or can you say use a gift card? Thanks!

I believe you have to use the card to get the discount.

Well with merchandise, you only have to show the card, but the purchase has to be $50 or more. I don't know if food is the same or not.

You get a discount on Merchandise over $50 and any food in the park (at restaurants) and you do not have to use the CC to get the discount. Just show the card.

oh! can you combine the discount with AP discounts, or can you only just use one?

If you've only got 10% off discount on your AP and you use your card, don't bother even showing the AP pass. They'll just tell you that they both offer the same discount, no need to show both.

Personally, I think that's very convenient since I hate having to take out two cards just to get a discount. Next, I think they should put a photo of me on my card so it serves as a photo ID and i don't need to pull on the drivers license for some purchases

I'm not sure food is covered. I know that if you spend $50 you get 10% off, but, I don't think the same rules apply to food.

Can I use the Disney Visa to get 10% off an annual pass? We are going June 12-17, and want to upgrade our hoppers on the last day...a discount would be great!

I still have my Disney Visa and still haven't used it! Going to use it for the first time in Disneyland. How fitting

Going to get 10% saved on my meal at Carnation Cafe.
Hoping to raise enough money to go to DL from Pennsylvania with my wife for our 5 year anniversary. (We went there on our honeymoon!)

If you would like to contribute to the cause for a relatively poor private school teacher. Please private message me. I'd be very thankful.

                          You're slipping!

You are such the planner how could you not "test out" your card before you hit the Park?

For some strange reason, what if the card doesn't work? It's happened!

                          Then what?

No reason to "break it in" at DL. Go ahead and try it once or twice before your trip begins.

Then you can enjoy knowing that when you tell the server, "charge it!" you really can!

you should use your card for as much as you can to get points. groceries, home and cell phone, cable, car insurance everything goes on the Disney card for the points. not gas since I go to Costco for that. that's enough to pay for most of an AP.

The Disney VISA only works at the Mexican food restaurants and the pizza places. (that the easy rule I use to remember where you can use it)
Also, It's good for 10% off purchases after the first $50.
What Gary said bears repeating - use it for EVERYTHING! Its free money!! I generally end up with about $250 on mine because I only go once a year.
Oh and don't carry a balance ~ the interest rate is terrible.
