  • [Fun] Disneyland Aerial Photos

This guy got some pretty cool aerial photos of Disneyland. That appear to be high res. I love how you can see some of backstage clearly. I really like the picture of the sub lagoon from high up because you can still see the Circle Vision theater top over the BLAB building. Anyways pretty cool site.

I wonder how he got these shots?
Here's the Disney's California Adventure section

EDIT: I guess he hires a guy to fly him in a helicopter over amusement parks while he takes the pictures. Seems like he has a lot of money to fund this project. As he states he pays for these trips out of his own pocket. It's a very interesting project. I would love to do something similar one day. Just for fun.

If you have the right (press) credentials, can you fly over Disneyland? I'm sure it's restricted airspace, but I see light planes and helicopters flying nearly over it all the time. Maybe he simply hired a helicopter and shot with some telephoto lenses.

The photos are great, too bad they're not high resolution.

                    MOAR!!!

Mainly on car enthusiast forums. Don't ask why. It just is.

I also wish there were more pictures. Maybe if we all email him to go back on a helicopter ride over the park and take MANY more pictures. Or at least post the others he has (Im pretty sure he took more than what's displayed).

Those are fantastic photos. Lots of memories to share and remember.

Time to get a good camera for myself. I am super jealous with the shots. Makes me wanna go back again.

The only aircraft that are allowed in this airspace is for non-civilian law enforcement and safety. On occasion, due to air traffic conditions, ATC will specically direct civilian aircraft into this space. And that is probably what is going on. Considering how busy the traffic is above the LA Basin this happens more than I am sure Disney would want. But the FAA prefers safety over ruining the magic for Disneyland Resort guests.
