  • News Live Search Maps are now Bing Maps

I know this isn't strictly about Disneyland, but so many people use these maps when discussing the DCA Project as well as DL projects.

Live Maps has become Bing Maps - Microsoft is pushing their new search engine, Bing.

Weird. Thanks for letting us know...I guess I can't complain as long as the feature set and photography don't get worse, and both seem unchanged so far. I'm pleased (and a little surprised) that my scattering of old bookmarked Bird's Eye images of Disneyland still work, too. Can't say I'm fond of the additional white space at the bottom of the page, though...

I thought there was more white space at the bottom. That's pointless.

Totally. I'm gonna chalk it up to a glitch for now. It's not like they're fitting new fine print in there or anything...it's just blank.

I dont get why they would take it out of their brand new heavily pushed suite of "Live" applications and give it a stupid name lol. Any ideas?

            Microsoft is in panic mode.
Hmm, Microsoft has a new search engine? I'll have to Google it. ~

Quick, simple, amazing street view things to.

Luckily, it doesn't need to be either/or. I use both Google Maps and Live Sea - I mean, Bing Maps. Each one has its strengths. The former has street view and better imagery in some areas; the latter has the incredible "Bird's Eye" photography as well as better imagery in other areas. Unless I just need quick directions and nothing more, I usually use both at the same time.

                    Don't forget HistoricAerials.com
It's kinda clunky, but interesting nonetheless.
