  • May 29-June 2: I Know It's You Saget!: A Kuzcochik Rally Trip Report

Hey people! My name is Kuzcochik and I went to too many Disney parks in the month of May. Because of this, I am finally getting around to doing a trip report for last weekend, AKA Gumball Rally 3.

Rest assured, the title of this TR will be explained later but I told Darkwing Chuck to come up w/ a title and this is what he picked after we referenced it all weekend. As I said, explained in due time.

Our TR starts Thursday though there are no pictures. That night after picking up Darkwing Chuck from the scene of a car accident we headed for California (wow does that sound melodramatic. No worries though. He's all right and the trip served as a fairly good diversion.

We arrived in Anaheim at about midnight checked into our hotel and hit the hay.
Friday morning started earlier than I would have liked and we headed to guest services... why you might ask? To pick up our complimentary admissions
But Kuzcochik, you have an AP, why would you need free admission to the park. Why are you hogging it?
Well my good inquisitive reader, that is because these were no ordinary park admissions. These had 2 words on the back that made them amazing "Club 33". Yeah, you read that right! Kuzcochik & Family & Darkwing Chuck had a date w/ Disney's most exclusive club. A club so illustrious but well known it makes the Vacation Club actually looks like a secret.

Our lunch reservations were at noon so we got in a few rides before then. We made it all the way back to Critter Country when two rarely seen villains tried to apprehend us.

Luckily we outsmarted Brer Bear (the obvious weak link of the duo) and got him to give us the thumbs up.

So we raced through New Orleans Square, our goal close at hand

We gave Darkwing Chuck the great honor of buzzing us in since this was his first time there

42nd Wonder of the World, the backside of the Club 33 stained glass

The marvelous glass elevator... which sadly does not have an "up & out" button. (also ignore the high iso... my camera was being difficult)

Darkwing Chuck = Super Excited (seriously he was bouncing the whole time)

    Fakey Artistic shot ^_~

My brother does not approve of DC's geeking out (I think at this point he was excited about pineapple)

One of the cool things about this 33 trip was I was old enough for alcohol. However, I was not old enough to not have a light up Tinkerbell on my drink.

I'm not a person to take pics of my food so you will not see my appetizer plate or my delicious chicken meal. This is my dessert plate though and it was only taken because I actually tried to make it pretty. Cause I'm cool like that. (Note: It was all delicious!)

With food finished, we spent some time annoying the people of New Orleans Square.

Most did not wave back. They stared at us like "How the heck did they get up there?" or "who is that crazy person?" or completely ignored us

We had to take pics of ourselves to commemorate the vantage point

But if you've read my TRs you know I can't make normal faces (as Aladdin says: You'll never get the same Kuzcochik face twice)

Darkwing Chuck doesn't know what's wrong with me either

    Closer to a normal face

    My brother is still unamused...

We then went to the other balcony... cause we could

The boa district of NOS (another plus of 33 is getting to see cool details on the upper levels that you can't see as well on the ground)

    Chillin on the balcony

Really, what up with these halfway normal pictures... I guess Club 33 classed me up

Spot the Kuzcochik. I worried that news of my awesomeness would reach the world so I decided to hide from the masses in this amazing plant.

    The other dining room

And it's creepy animal spies (read up on the club to know what I'm talking about)

Darkwing Chuck calling people to rub in where we are

A really beautiful painting in the bathroom

Oh yes.... I went there. Fancy Club 33 potty!

Enough of the potty humor, here's a Big Castle Wall Painting

Really cool Pirates of the Caribbean map painting (I want!)

This piano is gorgeous!! (and I really couldn't get a picture that did it justice)

The buffets for appetizers & dessert (respectively). Yummy

    The bar... also yummy

Some really neat Mary Poppins sketches

Chuck and I had taken some extra time in the Club, so we headed over to Fantasyland to meet up with my family who were on Small World (my mom & brother hadn't seen the new version)
I love the lady on the left hand side of this pick with her head in her hands like "oh lord get me off this ride"

And then we hit up Roger

After a stop in Tomorrowland, my brother and my mom left us to our business (they had to be back by Sat so they were really only in the park for 33)
    Here's some Astro Orbitor testing

My dad, Darkwing Chuck and I headed to Pixie Hollow because we had been told
    a) that the best time to visit is during the parade
    &
    b) Rosetta (my fav pixie) was there that day.
Low and behold we waited a full 10 minutes in line at the Hollow and the Pixie on duty was Rosetta! Score! ^_^
Rosetta was a bit more over the top than I would have liked (Like crazy almost annoying southern accent) But she was cute and kinda fun

No, I did not mean to wear the same color as her... I didn't even think about it until we got there

Here's Rosetta by herself talking to the next group and doing Pocohantas Wingapo (or however you spell it) welcome.

    See... adorable!

Oh yeah, and Tink was there too

As we left a group of very annoying teenage girls were behind us. They started shrieking when they saw Tink and we literally ran out of Pixie Hollow (some guy looked at us like "what the hell happens in there?")

We made our way to DCA and hit up Mania.

Then my dad headed back to the hotel and Dana met up with us.

We headed back to Disneyland because... well because we could We decided to hit up Fantasyland
    Dana loved her horse

So much she tried to eat him! WTF?

Darkwing Chuck was still in a food coma from 33

    Oh my!

I don't know why, but I really love this shot (thx Darkwing Chuck)

Riding side saddle on Jingles... cause I'm classy

    Elephant statue near Casey Jr.

    And some pretty flowers

Then we were captured... cause I'm a monkey (who looks kinda drunk)

    Darkwing Chuck is not amused

    The canals and train tracks

    Enchanted by the scenery

And having a very important conversation

Now we shall hurt you for interrupting us!!

With a spin on Mansion we decided to call it an early night. We headed back to the hotel got some food and then got some rest
Cause Saturday was a big day! A Big Day indeed!!!

I'm with MGB, that walking Kevin Balloon Animal puppet is AMAZING. I might have to head down to the El Capitan this weekend just to take pictures!

And thanks for finishing up yet another wonderfully wacky, entertaining and patented Kuzcochik Trip Report! After all your Disney trips in May (including Florida!), you definitely deserve a breather until July.

    :yea:

P.S. Conan's Twitter Tracker is freaking hilarious. I like how they manage to make fun of Twitter, and at the same time, give it lots of free publicity.

Re: May 29-June 2: I Know It's You Saget!: A Kuzcochik Rally Trip Report

Alright, Monday and Tuesday there really aren't that many pics and there's lots to talk about but I'll keep it kinda short cause I know I personally hate long paragraph driven trs.

Monday we left our hotel and headed out to Hollywood around noon. One of the few times driving to Hollywood that I haven't really had to deal w/ traffic, it was nice!!

We got to Hollywood around 1pm and parked the car.

After this we headed to the line that was forming down the street. It was already pretty crazy. On guy said he had gotten there at 4am just to get standby tickets. Craziness!

Excited but scared about the big line!

Eventually they took us all across the street and to this little holding cell like thing. (Note the random guy on the left hand side who was trying to get tickets... like I said, crazy)

A few feet in they check us in and we got wristbands. We then waited for a few more hours. Nothing exciting to report really except that their bathroom sitch suck (you have to wait forever, they can only take like 20 people at a time... it was lame) Here's us with our tickets

Eventually (close to 3:30) they started letting people in and we slowly moved through the line. There were a few news stations there interviewing random people in line.
And here's the area we were going into

We finally made it onto the lot and were taken to the stage. At the doors they gave us free "Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" Hats! They checked everyone's bags and threated death to the first born if you turned on cell phones or cameras.
We headed inside and were soon seated. There are two levels to the audience and we were sat at the very bottom of the top level. We had tons of leg room which was awesome.

The show itself was awesome. Like I said, no pics allowed, so there are obviously no pics.
    Random tid bits:
    1) Conan's crazy tall!!!
    2) After Conan's tour of the studio we all started chanting "Circles" he yelled at us but it was really fun ^_~
    3) Robert Smigel (Triumph the Insult Comic Die, et al) came into the audience during the show and sat like 5 feet from us. One of the ushers made him turn off his cell phone (pretty sure he didn't know who he was)
    4) Will Ferrel is over the top and I'm sorry but I don't like him
    5) Pearl Jam was pretty cool and after the show did a second song for the audience
    6) right before Pearl Jam came out, Sarah Silverman hurried up the stairs and hid in a corner to watch them then went backstage

That's all I can think of. It was a fantastic experience!
Here's Darkwing Chuck still excited post show (with his new hat ^_~)

We had planned to go to the El Cap to see Up, but they had no showings that night (we learned later it was because they were holding the premiere for the Proposal)
So we headed to City Walk, ate dinncer at Hard Rock and then saw Up at their theater (which didn't have Partly Cloudy... wth?)

By the time we got out (after requisite crying during up and having to walk to our car) we headed back to Anaheim and watched the show we had just been at (cause we're so cool!)

Tuesday we started the whole process over again and were to Hollywood around noon. (Please ignore the Princess Protection Program billboard in this. *pukes a little*)

This time we headed to Hollywood and Highland first b/c I was on a quest for a non-existant Up item (the Adventure Book Scrapbook was sold out in like all of Disneyland and the El Cap. I had to get it at the D-store at home)
Outside we saw this chick (who is not to be confused w/ the creepy characters in front of the chinese theater. She was legit Disney)

She was super nice and the costume was so so so cool!! ^_^

Darkwing Chuck was upset cause Kevin had snapped at him :P (also random note: the guy on stilts was so part of the Enchated Experience when I went. He's cool too)

Up buying mission failed, we headed back over to Universal and joined the line from the previous day. Tuesday it was much more organized and worked much better (except the bathroom sitch still sucked). We bought a bunch of merch and then sat and waited for 2 hrs.

Tuesday's show was actually better than Mondays. We sat on the stage right corner and thought we were in a terrible place but the view was good and we ended up being in just the right place to be in the background of a few Max Weinberg which was really cool (if you watch the epi again we're in the first shot after the commercial break)
I lied here it is on hulu: look for my crazy Donald jacket at the furthest left behind Max:
Hulu - The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien: Tue, Jun 2 2009 - Watch the full episode now.

    Quick notes:
    1) Conan's still super tall
    2) According to Darkwing Chuck I have a great audience laugh... I don't know what that means
    3) Twitter Tracker is hilarious and now (a week later, there is now an actual twitter account for it). We laughed that the second we could turn our phones back on we started tweeting about Twitter Tracker
    4) Tom Hanks was absolutely hilarious
    5) Tom Hanks really liked making Conan's live miserable by getting the audience to chant "Coco" at him. That was also a super fun chant
    6) Green Day rocked! It made me remember how much I love Green Day
    7) I never mentioned this, but his set is absolutely beautiful! Like even more so in person than on tv (and the backdrop does totally look like Super Mario Brothers )

And the most important part. As we left the studio someone mentioned something about them giving out ice cream.
Turns out they were giving everyone choco tacos because of a discussion about it on the previous days show. Again here's the clip on hulu if it works:
Hulu - The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien: Mon, Jun 1, 2009 - Watch the full episode now.

It was really cool (especially having been at both of them)

All and all it was a great experience

We again headed to City Walk to get food. We ate at the Daily Grill and had like the coolest waiter ever!! ^_^
We left around 9pm and drove all the way home... somehow, really not sure how we're alive

That was really it. I hope you enjoyed. This will have to hold you over for a bit because I have no real trips planned until Comic Con in July. Hope you all can hold out
Thanks again for all the comments, you guys are awesome!!

Great report. I am thoroughly enjoying!

"Street-tastrophe" made me LOL. Also the idea that princess characters "do this for a living", because lord knows the last people making a living wage at Disneyland are the performers! Gah.
Can't wait for the rest, and for Conan!

KC, there's not much for me to add that hasn't been said already. Mac Daddy (above) pretty much conveys what I would have written, so I'll just quote him here.

Oh, I do have to comment on some pictures so...I love your Celebrate pics! I agree that Clarice and Stitch make for an oddly entertaining pair. And yes, Peter and Wendy do love to mug for the camera. I've got a really good one of them that I need to upload soon.
