  • [Question] Disneyland 55th Ann.

I know Disneyland has been doing alot of stuff for Celebrate and for Night Tasmic but has there been any news of what they are doing for the 55TH Birthday for Disneyland. I would though of now there be some kind of news to it?
To my respect from a Dodger fan.

          Didn't Al talk about this
That they were planning some stuff
but with budgets cuts, what might have been a green light is no longer?

Maybe someone else remembers better on what Al said so many months ago (6 maybe?)

I think the best you are going to get is the new refurb of Electrical Parade (this year) and the upgrades of F! (this year)
World of Color is most likely the newest thing.
With Cars land and Little Mermaid following after the 55th.
And even all that's going on in DCA, that is suppose to be all geared up for when it turns 10.
          Correct?
          Quote by Al:
To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.

After DCA has all of its changes made, then it will no longer be 10 years old. For it will essentially be a new park. So therefore, only the original parts of it, should then be celebrating its 10 th Anniversary.

That doesn't make sense. Major sections of Disneyland have changed and expanded over the years, and yet the 50th anniversary celebrated the whole park, not just the areas that have been there since 1955.

DCA will turn 10 years old in 2011, because the park opened in 2001. (And maybe someone will give a rats @$$ about the park's anniversaries by then.)

I believe there's going to be an elaborate new parade, called "Worlds of Wonder", and the Electrical Parade may be returning to DL.

                (Both rumors, of course)

It is but a thought, and my opinion. I know that Dl has changed and expanded over time. It is a much older park. Maybe if Disney had done a better job of DCA, then major changes would not have been made necessary. I am not a fan of DCA, Dl. yes.

We know about the Star Tours upgrade which is coming soon, but I don't know if it will be completed in time to coincide with the 55th campaign.

Assuming that Disney sticks to their promise that Magical is a limited engagement, there will also be a new fireworks show.

55 is going to be something that I will be waiting to see.
I do think that just maybe Main Street Electrical Parade might just comeback due to the construction havoc that is going to take place at the Plaza but we will have to see!!!

I assume when the 55th Celebration rolls around, they will have a BRAND NEW parade and fireworks.

Supposedly, the POD floats are still backstage... I think Disney might attempt to pull a fast one and bring it back for the 55th with some new decor and audio ala' Magic Kingdom.

I think it would be cool if they brought ELP back to DL. I never went when it was at DL, and saw it at DCA a while back. But even though i had never seen it in DL, it just didn't feel right watching it in DCA for what ever reason. Maybe its just cuz i love sitting on main street watchin parades and sitting next to/ around sunshine plaza doesn't give the same experience haha.
