  • [Question] Music loop that's played in the Paradise Pier area...

    Hi all!

Is the music loop that is played in the Paradise Pier area of DCA available for purchase? The loop I speak of contains 'carousel type' versions of pop songs from the 1960's.

I'd appreciate any help with this search. Thank you!

I don't believe you can find the songs on any soundtrack put out by Disney, but most of these songs can be found on their own.

    California Girls
    California Sun
    I Love LA
    All Summer Long
    Hang On Sloopy
    Wouldn't It Be Nice
I Left My Heart In San Francisco
    Age of Aquarius
Itsy-Bitsy Teeny Weenie Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini
    Fun Fun Fun
    Surfer Girl
    California Dreamin'
    Good Vibrations
    Surfin' USA
    I Get Aroun
    7 Monday Monda
    Little Old Lady from Pasadena
    Happy Together
    Dancin' in the Street
    Surf City
    You're So Good to Me
San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair)

I don't believe you can legally obtain the carousel versions they play at DCA.

Haha, I'm not a fan of the Paradise Pier loop and I really wish they would stop playing it in the Esplanade between Disneyland and DCA. Some tracks just don't belong.

It's not available for purchase at all. You can only LISTEN to it here (third one down ), but NOT for purchase or download

(although if you're tech savvy on a Mac like me, it is possible to download it)

Or on a PC. And that is not the only place to listen to it either. There are 5 or 6 sites that stream park audio.

The US military probably uses it against the inmates of Guantanamo.

Why don't they get an actual band organ instead of what sounds like an old Casiotone keyboard?

There's an actual seaside amusement park in Northern California that's recently restored 2 of them if they need any help.

I for one like the music they play along the parade route, in the section right before the walkway up to Paradise Pier. Right at that intersection of the walkway, where you come up from Grizzly Rapids, and where the Golden Dreams theater is. I've heard them play Jerry Goldsmith's Rudy, as well as Alan Silvestri's Forrest Gump Suite. I like them a lot more than what's played on Paradise Pier.

That would be the Pacific Wharf / San Francisco District music loop that also includes Alan Silvestri's Forrest Gump and.. is it Hans Zimmer's Rain Man?

I'm generally anti-Paradise-Pier, but I love the music. I don't know if it will be thematically appropriate once the pier is really Victorianized, but hey, they're keeping the Toy Story characters, so who knows?

I also love hearing the great Roger Rabbit score playing in HPB. (I imagine they'll keep that, as the movie was set in Golden-Age Hollywood. At least I hope they will! )

They HAVE an actual band organ - it was installed in that glass building behind Dumbo at DL, and was working for real for about a year.

Then they found out how much it cost foir the skilled maintenance it needed, plus running climate control in the little building 24/7/365 so the temperature and humidity stayed within a narrow acceptable band... They recorded the organ repetoire and installed speakers and a CD player, and stopped maintaining it. Probably wouldn't even make a squeak if they flipped the switch now, 15-ish years later.

They paved Paradise and put in a parking lot...

It's called "The Cleaner". Why they play in San Francisco, I don't know.
