  • Trip Report First Post/Trip Report 7/7

We arrived in time for rope drop and after requesting a Lily Belle ride at city hall and getting fastpasses for IJA we headed for SM.

    The Adventureland mailbox

    Long exposure (4s), no flash!

    High speed thrills at 6.5mph!

    The "Horn" at sunset

The 1912-2006 version of the Louisiana State Flag flies over New Orleans Square (the modern version has 3 drops of blood on the Pelican's chest).

    Main street station

I have always liked the reflective fiberglass ceilings of the tram cars.

Blue Sky Cellar: I'm looking forward to a new display.

I had never been on BTMRR during the fireworks and it was Spectacular! This and the Lily Belle were the highlights of our trip.

This looked like a distant galaxy to me (lingering remnants of fireworks).

    Yes, the cliche teacup shot.

Casey Jones: A lot more fun at night.

These folks stepped in front of the camera just after I set it up so I rolled with it.

    Monorail station, nearly midnight

The tram ride back to Pinocchio. All in all a great trip and not too hot. Enjoy!

Thank you for the kind words everyone! These shots were all taken using a relatively inexpensive "point and shoot" Fuji S6000fd. I also brought along a conventional Canon SLR but have yet to process the pictures.

More Pictures from the 7/7 trip

Our ride on the Lilly Belle could not have been better. We were the only passengers and were able to discuss the minutiae of each train. I recommend riding early in the morning to avoid the heat.

My first Dole Whip! It was excellent.

I like the realistic rigging on board the Columbia.

                            Minetrain and some ears

                            Cargo net on the Columbia

The Sousaphone player threw beads to me just after this shot was taken...I didn't know they did that.

We had a great time! My best trip to the park.
