  • [Question] Celebrate A Street Party

Hate to ask but I need a refresher, I guess it's because I didn't pay much attention to it until now that I'm actually leaving to D-land on August 5th. But why is it called street party and why do we not have a parade, also what's the difference? Is it really a parade and if they are trying to say it's not why is it such a big deal? Just a little puzzeled sorry if it annoys you.

Most consider a parade something that goes continually from start to finish.
They call it a Street Party because of the Celebrate Theme this year, it stops at three different locations and does song and dance routines, but does nothing between the stops.
    Hope that helps a little.

To add to what KarlinVV said, it is not a parade. The floats are more like portable stages than what you would normally think of as a Disney parade float. Celebrate! A Street Party is literally what the name suggests, a party in the streets. It pulls up, stops, pop music plays, characters dance, and finally guests come and interact with them. Then they pack up and continue to their next stop. They do three stops every time they come out and they do several shows a day. But if you are looking for a parade, you are going to be disappointed by it. I really like it, but I don't expect more from it than it offers.
I'm attempting to watch and review every Disney movie ever made in my blog called The Disney Films. You can also follow me on Twitter for news on upcoming Disney films.
