  • [Question] Halloween - Can adults dress up????

We have a trip planned to DLR that includes Halloween day and we wanted to dress up everyone (adults and kids) as various Star Wars characters. A friend told me that Disney has a policy that prevents adults from wearing costumes and only kids can dress up. Can anyone confirm this????

Secondly, the friend said DLR closes around 7PM on Halloween and you can buy a extra pass to stay in the park after closing where CM's pass out candy to the kids. Can anyone confirm this also?

Any information would be greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance.

Nope, only up to 12 can in HalloweenTime and 9 in normal months, unless your going to the mickey's halloween event, in DCA, which is for a few weeks in Oct. where CMs pass out candy to adults and kids dressed up.

Right. Adults CANNOT dress up and enter DL.

Adults CAN dress up and enjoy the Halloween event inside DCA.

The Halloween event (Mickey's Trick or Treat Party) inside DCA is a seperate ticket admission. Tickets will go on sale to the general public sometime this w/e, whereas us AP'ers have already been able to get them (which we did!).

      Have a spooky Halloween!

As said only during Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party. Here are the costume rules for that from Disney's site:

            Costume Information
All event attendees — including adults — may dress in their favorite Halloween costume and must follow these and other guidelines as determined solely by Disney:
            • Costumes should be child-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive or violent.
            • Guests may wear masks. However, masks must not obstuct vision and eyes must be visible at all times.
            • Guests that dress like Disney Characters may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
            • Costumes should not drag on the ground.
            • Costumes should not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
            • Costumes should not contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
            • Guests of all ages may only wear costumes to the Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party to which they have valid tickets. During normal Park operating hours, costumes are only permitted for Guests ages 9 and younger.
Guests that do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into the event unless their costume can be modified to meet the above standards.
Stalking is when two people go for a long romantic walk together but only one of them knows about it.

No, simply because Disney does not want little children running up to men dressed as Snow White.

Re: Halloween - Can adults dress up????

I went one October with Minnie ears and dress, and collected candy and rode the rides, but I clearly was not a Mouse. But I was a adult at the time.

So follow the guidelines and you'll be fine. When I went we dressed up for evening separate ticket, the park was closed down, and then reopened for trick and treaters and we were given bags to collect candy. But that was before DCA. So it may have changed.

                  have fun, no matter what.

I did NOT need to hear that... I thought it was simply because people would be mistaken for cast members. Lovely picture.

They also don't want females dressed to resemble Tarzan.

Re: Halloween - Can adults dress up????

Agreed, the only place in Disneyland an adult will get in wearing a costume is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, which is in DCA in the evenings. I've never been myself, but I've heard good things and I would like to get a ticket this year.

So kids up to age 12 can wear costumes on a normal day in the park during Halloweentime? I didn't know! I do know it's 9 and under during the normal year. I have seen people get turned away at the bag check tents due to costumes; how embarrassing and inconvenient. Really the most you can do is wear a fun hat. Or be a goth, they usually let costume-y gothic clothes in. And then there's Bats Day, which pushes the costume rule envelope a tad more, but not generally in any Disney-franchise directions.

Having just returned from Comic Con, I can provide a few reasons why adults cannot dress up at Disneyland.

                              slutty princesses

(Although, I will say that at least they had the bodies for the costumes. It could have been a LOT worse)
