  • [Question] How much for a plaque at Disneyland Resort

    Hey Guys,

I have been wondering this for a long time. How much does it cost to get a plaque on the floor between Disneyland entrance and DCA entrance.

How do you get one of those?

    Thanks

I have a co-worker that got one of these for him and his girlfriend. He told me after all was said and done it was about $250 and the contract is for 10 years. After 10 years they remove the plaque. You can renew before the 10 years is over by paying whatever the renewal price is at that point, but it is usually less as you don't have to pay for the brick plaque to be made again. They also offer you a brick duplicate for you to take home. You can have a wooden one made as well. My co-worker got both. So probably not getting those would make it a bit cheaper.

How do you go about getting one? Do you need to go to town hall? I am interested...also, while we are on the subject of being "immortalized" at DLR....Have you heard of people scattering ashes there? It seems like it would be something a person would have requested over the years. I just wonder if it's happened?

It's happened. Numerous times. None legally though (that I am aware of).

The Haunted Mansion is a popular "final resting place". Well, until the ashes get swept up and disposed of...

Most ashes end up in the trash or water filter system for disposal.

There have been times that ashes have been successfully spread throughout the Park. Without permission of course, but hey, the deed was done and according to the deceased final wishes.

With a little creativity, there are literally hundreds of places within the Park for ashes to be successfully spread.

No, not at City Hall. Facing the main gate make an extreme left to the newstand (you can be either inside or outside the park) and ask for the forms to fill out for the plaque. Expect about a six month wait until your plaque gets installed in the esplanade. My family got real lucky with its plaque smack dab in front and center of DL looking at the railroad station. I couldn't have picked a better location myself.

So, how much does it cost, for just the plaque at the park, and nothing else?

Unofficially, I do not think you can have your ashes scattered at the park. But, after my brother passed away, I took some, not all, of his ashes and boarded the train. That way I could scatter his ashes in every land.

That's cool Disneyland still does this. WDW doesn't sell bricks anymore. I have one at the TTC at WDW. Visited it again back in January. It's been there for about 11 years now. Going to try visiting it again next month.

We just got a brick this year for our 1st wedding anniversary. It was installed in August. The cost is $150 for just the brick itself. We also got the wood replica (it's smaller in size) for I think $35. There is an acrylic version for the same price. Annual Pass discounts apply to the brick and replicas. Woot! The official program name is "Disney's Walk of Magical Memories". We did our order via fax and email (they want the forms filled out and faxed but all other communication can be through email). You can contact the Magical Memories office at (800)760-3566 (8am to 5pm Pacific Time) or email DL.Bricks@disney.com.

                    We love our brick!

My friend used to walk on the zig-zag pattern that weave through the bricks, and I asked her why.

For 13 years, she thought they were graves. O.o

Since this entry, I have done a smidge of investigative work (just checking Disneyland.com ) and in the list of things NOT allowed in the park it clearly states that no urns, boxes, vases, etc. of human remains are allowed. I suppose it's for custodial reasons as stated above, but I can't help but think (forgive if this seems macabre) that they are missing out some sort of market.

I would totally put it in my will to dump my remains in the ROA. *insert light-hearted emoticon here*

I never received my replica! Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to call about it. I keep forgetting.
                              Good morning, son

Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                              It was pain
                              Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
