Hunny Hunt would be my first choice choice, hands down.

Maybe Journey to the Center of the Earth, depending on how good the Carsland attraction turns out to be in comparison.

I guess they think that's a smarter use of their money than operating completely different and unique theme parks around the world to tap into that globe-trotting Disney parks fanatic demographic.

No, I think when they open a park in China, it's to cater to local Chinese. Not to get Americans to leave Southern California and travel to China for a Disney vacation.

It's great if you can do that, but to suggest the company should cater their offerings to you is beyond presumptuous.

The parks do not have to be exact clones of one another. But I have no problem if they develop a new attraction for Tokyo Disneyland or Disneyland Paris and then decide to open one up here. Or whether or not they build a Big Thunder Mountain in Hong Kong.

It's great if they make a few modifications each time to change it up a little, but to suggest they can only use their blueprints once is absurd.

Walt Disney's investment in Anaheim leaves today's Walt Disney Co. with a unique business to operate. It's not a custom home in the foothills, it's a business, geared mainly to people who live in a geographical region.

The company doesn't have infinite money to spend.

Each resort has to work with a budget, the days when Walt would mortgage his home for a new attraction are over.

So you can spend x number of dollars infinite ways, you just can't spend an infinite amount of dollars. If the parks didn't turn a profit, the company would stop operating them.

If the company actually demonstrated being original Carsland wouldn't even be in their mindset. I'm also unsure why you think their hands are tied to the test track technology, they could invent something new if they wanted. I'm not opposed of copying and improving on technologies, just exact clones of what other parks have already. However, I don't think it's healthy for the company to make it a habit of copying technologies and forgetting to innovate.

You had also said that by copying technologies they would save money and reinvest it into the attraction theme; that's the wrong business attitude because it's not what an innovater does. What Disney should be doing is investing the proper amount of money for the theme regardless if it costs extra for new technology. There shouldn't be a compromise on show quality simply because they have a new technology that they want to demonstrate. If Disney is not fully commited to bringing the concept to life properly then don't do it, this is precisely what TDL did with Pooh's Hunny Hunt and what WED did with most of its creations.

That's a good idea. Because Test Track seems very contemporary.

Now that the money went into Test Track, DLR can spend more money on atmosphere and show and less investment into technology to create the amazing RSR attraction that's going up now.
... and now that the DLR is perfecting the technology for the track and putting more money into the show, maybe WDW will use the R&D results to make a ride more appropriate to the theme of Future World in Epcot?

    If only, if only...

That is a pretty morose comparison.

Exactly, your second wife should be hotter than your first.

Maybe that was a bad example.

    The technology should be upgraded/advanced
    from it's predecessors.

As I have stated my revulsion for cloning attractions,
if one is going to reincarnate an attraction, make it
modified, make it different, make it better.

    Correct again.
I'd like some numbers on what % of visitors to Disneyland will be back to Disneyland within 5 years. Then what % will visit WDW within 5 years. Then what % will visit ANY overseas Disney park in 5 years.

Show me some big numbers, Rob. Because I was impressed with all the "1st visit" pins on people's clothes yesterday when I was in the parks.

cloning technology is not what we're opposed of. It's cloning exact duplicates of rides.

If we didn't clone technology, you wouldn't have Pinocchio next to Snow White. Or Rocket jets and Dumbo. Or Pirates and Small World. Or Haunted Mansion and Adventure Thru InnerSpace. so on so forth.

    Perhaps, to a certain extent.

The attraction will utilize a similar ride system.

Although this version will be more advanced
then its predecessor that can be found in Epcot.
