[Question] AP online question

I plan to get the So Cal deluxe AP either Oct or december and plan to get it online so i can the montly payment
How long does it take to arrive to your home..or is it a print and take the paper to get the AP?
( ive searched the whole disney site for how long it takes but nothing)

I'd like some insight on this as well. I just sent our pass renewals via mail, but I see nothing on the website as to what is supposed to happen once I mail the renewal in. Should I expect to receive something in the mail before my passes expire next month?

There is no SoCal deluxe. The four APs are:

Southern California Select
Southern California
Deluxe
Premium

But to answer your question, you print out the paper and take it to the gate. At the gate, they scan the barcode and replace the paper with a cardboard ticket that you can use for re-entry and to get a fastpass until you go to Passport Processing at the Plaza Pavilion in Disneyland or Guest Relations in DCA where you get the plastic card with your picture. You must go to Passport Processing on that day.

You cannot get a NEW AP with the Monthly Payment plan anywhere else except in the parks.

If you want to renew an AP using the Monthly Payment Plan, you can do it at home. The steps are to go online and print out the renewal form with Monthly Payment plan at Disneyland.com/ap (Using your login and password). Fill out the printed form and then mail it in using the USPS to Disneyland.

Disney wants to confirm the user (first time) such as checking ID's, etc. And wants "paperwork" for those who want to renew. So no doing it "just" online.

On any given day, if you are not a pass holder, you purchase the paper ticket for park entry and you use it for fast passes and to reenter the park if you leave. The post is just saying you get a ticket for entry that you can use as your ticket for the day. They issue your actual pass from INSIDE the park.

Re-entry means if you leave the park you can get back in without buying another ticket. With a regular ticket you also need to have your hand stamped, but with an Annual Passport you just need your card (* see note below).

Fastpass is available on certain popular attractions where there is usually a very long line. You can pick-up a fastpass ticket and go do something else rather than stand in line, and then come back at the time printed on the ticket. You need a ticket in card form to put into the machine to get the fastpass, so a piece of paper won't work.


* Sometimes, if they think the park may get too crowded, you will need a hand stamp even with an AP. There will be signs warning you if that is the case.

I'll admit I didn't read other responses.
In the past, when I have sent in my renewal, it took approx. a week.

If you buy online, I believe you have the option of print at home or at the park.

If they don't have your picture on file, I don't believe you'll see any hard plastic A/P card in the mail....maybe a temp ticket. The temp tickets are good for the first day of entry. If you don't turn the temp pass into a plastic A/P card that day, you lose it.

We are out of towners but decided to get the Deluxe AP since it made most sense money wise since we have 3 mini trips planned in the next 12 months and 3 more maybe trips in the works.

I went on a slow day and went to Passport Processing right away. There was no line and it only took a few minutes. They need some basic information and take your picture and the computer spits out the card right away.

One more thing for new passport holders: if you're are getting the Premium or are adding parking to one of the others, remember to take your parking ticket with you to processing so they can refund the $12 you paid to park that day.
