[Chat] What songs are a must for a Disneyland mix?

For the 12 hour drive to Disneyland, we are all assigned the task of creating a mix to share with the car. There are 4 of us going. I want to make sure mine is the best by not only having great songs but also incorporating great Disneyland songs, since I don't think the others will think to add them.

What songs do you think must be included on a Disneyland mix?

"When You Wish Upon a Star" is ESSENTIAL. [I'm not talking about the Meaghan Jette Martin version - Ick.] Perhaps your mates in the car might find it smarmy, but it never fails to make me misty-eyed. And, if you can find it, "Laughing Place" is pretty cool.

Don't forget the Tikki Room! You can find it on itunes! Actually, there's a great album on there by the Sherman Brothers.

I also love Louis Armstrong, and there's a fantastic old cd, Disney Songs the Satchmo Way. Nothing like Louis doing Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!

if you really want, i'd also say Electrical Parade.. but that can get annoying after a few minutes of high pitched tinkering sounds and melodies..

these songs are all copyrighted by Disney so you can only buy them.. iTunes is a great place to start! a semi-recently released album "A Musical History of Disneyland" has some of the songs you'd like

I'm surprised no mention of "Disneyland" by Five for Fighting.

I also enjoy "Walt Disney Takes You to Disneyland".
It's only $5 on iTunes. Reminds me of the old days when I use to stay up late and watch the old Disneyland show on the Disney Channel

Anyone know of any CDs that have the music from the fireworks shows, attractions, and F! Or a place to download them...legally.

I do not believe Park sounds / soundtracks are legally available anywhere for legal digital purchase. I am one of the few living in a cave that don't use itunes....but you could check there.

Ebay could also be a good place to find used "out of print" Official Disneyland soundtracks and also people giving up their "Disney Forever CD's" they made and purchased legally at the park.

WHAT IS "DISNEY FOREVER?" This was product offering by The Walt Disney Company (available Fall 1998 in Disneyland and January 1999 in Walt Disney World) which offered the Park Music Collector the opportunity to select, via a kiosk touchscreen, up to ten selections from a large array of both current and retired attraction, parade, and show soundtracks, sound effects and area musics, all for around $20.00 per disk. The system is now gone, but many folks purchased some if not all of the tracks over the short period they were sold.
