  • [Fun] The Corporate Book of Walt Disney Quotes

They seem to like using them so much, it seems like we should make our own book about them! This is the Dictionary of Walt Disney quotes, to be used for the good of Corporate synergy and movie tie ins everywhere!

Animation offers a medium of story telling and visual entertainment which can bring pleasure and information to people of all ages everywhere in the world. -Walt Disney
Perfect when used for: Movie Tie-Ins for Rides, Animation Cross Promotions, Movie Based Lands
Best when used by: Kim Irvine, Cynthia Harris, Paul Pressler
Translation: It is clearly obvious that Walt wanted to use Animation in his parks in all ways possible, it is the only real way to ensure the sucess of an attraction. Plus, it never grows old so the ride can stay there forever!

PS. It's cheaper too! Hooray for corporate synergy!

Examples: It's A Small World, Winnie the Pooh, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage

Feel Free to do the same with your favorite overused quote.
Friend walks into line of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh-
"Come on, Let's go see Country Bear- .......Oh."
    -August 1st 2010

And this elevator traverls directly to The Twilight Zone The Gift Shop!

Re: The Corporate Book of Walt Disney Quotes

I have no problem with executives being listed, but is it really fair to list Imagineers under the whole "Best when used by:" section? It's like people think that the Imagineers are purposely trying to mislead us.

As far as I'm concerned, the Imagineers aren't the problem. It's the corporate losers who have power over Imagineering we should have a problem with. It really seems to me like the Imagineers are the victims in this situation, and I bet that their creativity is being compromised just to please the people who are only looking at the bottom line.

I'm pretty sure that people like Kim Irvine, Tony Baxter and company are really helpless when it comes to what corporate wants and are only following orders when it comes to things like the IASW refurb. That whole "Mary Blair came up with the america scene!" idea seems like something they had to pull out of their butts to try and justify what corporate wanted... something that they probably had to do if they want to keep their jobs. That whole "Let's make the Disney Gallery look like an art gallery that took over a bank!" idea they mentioned seems like another thing they had been forced into saying just to try and justify keeping the bank's fixtures because it would be cheaper. These buzzwords and Walt-ism usages are damage control and nothing more.. and I highly doubt that Imagineers are doing anything more than saying what corporate wants them to say.

"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."
        -Walt Disney

Perfect when used for: Adding atrocious "Disney" channel tie-ins into the parks. Also used for adding tie-ins to ANY classic attraction.
Best when used by:Coporate Suits-Paul Pressler, Jay Rasulo, Ed Grier, etc.........(too many to count)
Translation:We can do whatever the hell we want because we own this place. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Examples:IASW refurb, POTC refurb, High School Musical "parades", Miley Cyrus' 16th Birthday, etc..................
"Miley Cyrus is an abomination to the Walt Disney Company and a talentless little brat."

If it bothers anyone, they can feel free to change the categories. I only used imagineers since when confronted with opposition they also usually use a walt quote, such as the Marty Sklar Letter and stuff like that. Kim came out using some Walt quotes too at some point I think!

It's all in good fun, and a tad bit of revenge.

I understand that Imagineers are often expected to hype everything that's done - they interview everyone for openings - but I would prefer that they just keep quiet or, at most, provide a weak stamp of aproval rather than trying to actually justify poor decisions.

Re: The Corporate Book of Walt Disney Quotes

              some very valid points made

I do agree that Imagineers are told what to do (and MIGHT have jobs hung over their heads...we don't know this for a fact though)

I agree that if your heart isn't into it, then maybe not give two thumbs up.

And I agree with the mistakes that were listed on here
              Quote by Al:
To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.
