Re: What is it about disneyland?
For me, it's the place that was built on all the things I loved watching growing up, and I always find something new and interesting there each time I go.
And simply, it's just fun.Last album uploads: pictures from the Alice in Wonderland exhibit, more still to be added
2nd Club 33 visit- Febuary '10! Yay for my sister's birthday.

Re: What is it about disneyland?
Themes and the detail, what always amazes me about Disneyland is the attention to detail, whether it be on an attraction or waiting in line for an attraction, sometimes they are one in the same.
Look at rides like Indy, going through the temple and the bamboo and walls and such or Star Tours or Buzz Lightyear...all of the details that go into all of that just really astonish me. Its not just some mindless walk through line to get onto a ride, pay attention to all of the details. Im truly amazed everytime I go.
I also really like the service, most of the cast members are really customer orientated, friendly, happy to answer questions and do things for you if they can.

Read those words before you enter the park. It is not just some well written slogan. It is the honest to goodness truth.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

There is no time machines, there are no fountains of youth.
There is however...
Disneyland
That, to me, is what it is all about... all your five senses of sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing all submerged into a place like no other. With family and friends or even just alone in reflection. We take a long deep breath when we walk through those magical tunnels under the Mainstreet Station and are wisped away on the dreams of the quintessential imagineer.. WALT DISNEY!

I've tried explaining this a million times and I think I've failed each time. It's just magic. You go through the turnstyles and it's not about cost to get in, the hotel where you stay. It's just magic.Adults are only kids grown up, anyway - Walt Disney

Re: What is it about disneyland?
It just amazes me that every single time I go (and I've gone 10xyear for the last three years), I see something that I've never noticed before. It's the fact that Walt and the imagineers through all the decades have put in these amazing minute details, knowing full well that most park guests would never notice them. And that they put them in anyway! As crazy as it sounds, when I notice one of these things, I always get a smile and a little feeling akin to "wow, they put that there just for me.!" and I know not me specifically, but they put it there knowing that someone WOULD notice and appreciate the detail.
After all of these visits, there are still many many attractions that I haven't done!
Some days you can ride as many rides as possible, practically running to each. Some days you sit and watch people while drinking a mocha. Some days you browse through the shops. And some days you can do all of that! You can be in Disneyland all of the time and still experience many different kinds of 'days.'

Re: What is it about disneyland?
My brother thinks that my husband and I have been brainwashed or sucked into some Disney cult....He DOES NOT get it. And that makes me sad because he'll never share the magical memories & times that we have. Especially seeing Disneyland through my kids eyes. It just makes us feel so young and alive. It's hard to explain, like I said, you either get it, or you don't.Well Gawrsh!

Re: What is it about disneyland?
When Walt Disney opened Disneyland in 1955 he envisioned a park where whole families could have fun and while they are there forget the worries of the outside world. 54 years later that dream is still alive.
I see that anytime I am there. not only that but the theming of each of the lands, the rides and attractions that are fun, exciting, and, well mostly based upon disney movies and animated features(with the exception of star tours, and indiana jones, but are still great attractions, great shops, great food.
heck, what can i say its a great place.
or..... the 25 cents version.....

Re: What is it about disneyland?
I can't say exactly what it is for me but I remember as a kid going through all the family albums and taping all the Disneyland pictures to my bedroom door and watching the home movies over and over.
Now I go and remember my dad, we used to go ALL the time before he passed last year so it means a little more to me now.
From the music playing all around you to the attention to detail you see everywhere it just sucks you right in! I wish I was there now!!I  Donald Duck!

Re: What is it about disneyland?
Disneyland is an escape from everyday reality, That is why you cannot see outside the park when your there they to keep the Magic inside. Disneyland is not just a place that has rides and has shows and overcharges people. Disneyland is a state of mind, a place where you can forget or push aside the problems in your life or even in the world. Magic is around every corner, Dreams are made everyday. There are so many wonderful things to see, make sure you get all the information you can It may sound strange but do some serious studing take notes, I dont know how long you plan on staying but learn all the history you can there is so much to see. One thing for sure you will never forget it.
