Here's a photo of the crypt in New Orleans Square. Dated 1764, it was supposedly to be part of the cross-theming for Frontierland (Tom Sawyer's Island) & New Orleans Square (The Haunted Mansion).

we've heard a few different stories, like tying Jean Lafitte to both the Haunted Mansion & Pirates of the Caribbean. Or that the crypt actually belongs to the pirate who built the Haunted Mansion. we've also heard that there was supposed to be a tunnel to Tom Sawyer's Island, and this crypt was part of that theming. There's another story, that the date 1764 is supposed to honor an Imagineer who did a lot of the work in New Orleans Square.

after doing a little bit of reading and research, we're not quite sure which is true.

anyways, we know that there are tons of secrets and hidden details like this at Disneyland. and we're looking forward to learning about more of them!

This sounds like a fun thread in the making.

Regarding the image, I get the typical question mark icon in place of the image, in the post, but if I right click on it and select 'Open Image in New Tab' (I'm using Safari 4 for Mac), the image appears just fine in the new tab. (I'm sure it would work in a new window, too.)

Edit: Heh. I can see the image in the quote I made of your post, too.

not sure what they did with the coke...

another interesting fact about disneyland is that they don't sell gum at disneyland, this way nobody steps on gum...

did you also know there used to be a ciggar shop...right on main street where the wodden indian is...

also the guys who wipe everything down with spray bottles have to do 3 seperate sparys in the form of mikeys head, and then they can wipe it down...

                                  Here's one of our favorites.

Near the Pirates of the Caribbean exit, is a pirate themed shop called Pieces of Eight. In that pirate shop is an oddly themed chandelier.

The story is that this Monkey chandelier inspired the Jack the Monkey character from the Pirates of the Caribbean films.

Haha I wish it was true, then they opened it up to guests and said, "look at all this free coke we found!" and let us have it xD Does coke get old though? would it have expired since the 1950s?

here's the scary thing... did some googling... it seems to be TRUE!

contractors did find some 51-year-old Cokes in a wall during the construction on Tom Sawyer Island. they found lots of artifacts and one contractor did take a sip of a 50 plus year coca-cola.
