Rode it and aside from the cake in the middle of the table that changes every year it all looked about the same to me. Speaking of changes, it looked like there were a couple Halloween themed stuff inside of Splash Mountain. One near the beginning with an AA dressed like a farmer in a pumpkin patch and one room right before the big drop that stuck out as being different and Halloweenish, although I couldn't put my finger on what it was.

As far as the line goes, when I went in it only stretched so far back because people kept stopping in front of the Mansion to take pictures in line. Once it got back to the switchback area it was pretty much a walk-on. (That was at about 11 this morning)

Nah that stuff is there all year round. Would be cool to see some halloween stuff in other rides though.

They could easily do an overlay for TSMM, considering all they have to do is change the program.

HMH usually doesn't get as many updates/changes as it should.. the only thing that changes is the gingerbread house. What i'm really hoping for is a good refurb for the regular HM once the holiday overlay is removed. any chance we'll see some of the updates that WDW's mansion received?

Don't be surprised. As you already know, Ghost Galaxy is something that has never happened to Disneyland before, so this much bigger news than HMH. Plus, a lot of us already sort of knew that the only thing that was going to change in HMH was the dining hall centerpiece.

I hope so. I visited the WDW Mansion a year before its refurb. It was truly in sad sad shape. The Doom Buggy I rode in had a bad sound system - mostly static! - and the interior of the Mansion looked drab and gray (and not in a spooky way). But a year later...WOW...incredible!~~ The sound is AMAZING all through the mansion, everything looks vivid and renewed, the new bride motifs are chilling, the graveyard scene is far better, that new Escher staircase scene is brilliant, and we have the picture gallery that DL has always had. Soooo much better. I hope DL gets the same loving care. It's not in as poor a shape as WDW's was but it deserves a bit of upkeep too.

I noticed the Splash Mtn. halloween stuff too, there was a cobweb, and Mickey pumpkins on it last time I went. As for HM, I'm going tomorrow or Sunday, but I think HM is the same stuff.

Haunted Mansion in DL does get a lot more care, technically, BECAUSE of HMH. Whenever HM is down after the holidays it gets a mini refurb due to having stuff be taken down, put back up, making it like good ol' HM, etc. It gets a good amount of TLC.

I think what nonob88 meant was that Haunted Mansion Holiday ITSELF needs to get updated and changed frequently to keep it interesting. Yeah, the gingerbread centerpiece in the dining hall is neat and all, but other than that it's the same when SO MUCH can be planned in those 9 months that the layover isn't being used. Doesn't have to be a whole new story or anything, just something to "Wow!" us again that we haven't seen before.

This Splash Mountain mini-overlay sounds like a cute thing! And didn't the Press Release of HMH say something about chilling surprises? Is the only thing different the gingerbread house? And does anyone know what it is this year and/or what it does?
