  • [Question] Is it the best idea to go to Disneyland very early, when it started opened?

Just to know. Because my birthday is coming up and I am prepared to go with my closest friends. My schedule is that my friends come to my home at 6:30 am and we leave at 7:00 am and make it to the park by 7:40 am and make it to the gates by 8:00 am. Is it a bit too early?

Because I never really went to Disneyland at such a early time and very early in the morning. I never did and I want to now. Because I want to experience all the hours of enjoyment at Disneyland and for my birthday! Got to sleep early on next saturday!

Also, should I make a reservation on Blue Bayou? Because I never ate there before. My friends didn't either.

Y' know I have only been at DL at opening maybe one time? in my whole life... (& that was because a CM friend was signing us in for the day... we are not morning people! )
Anyway, I think it is a great idea to get there early on your birthday to enjoy your day for as long as possible!! I hear that they serve some tasty breakfast in the park too... (Carnation Cafe w/ Chef Oscar)
If you have never been to the BB, then I would suggest going there as well. Everyone needs to eat there at least once!! You cannot beat the ambiance and the food is very good. I love the Monte Cristo sandwich (only served @ lunch) and the Chicken Gumbo soup. It is pricey (about $30 a plate, that comes w/ entree and choice of soup or salad) but it is your birthday, so you should celebrate!! :yea:

Definitely recommend getting there as soon as it opens. the first few hours have the lightest crowds and depending on the day, you can check off a bunch of rides in a short time. Have fun!

            YES. Do it!

Whenever I go to Disneyland for a day trip, I wake up freaking early, drive for 2hrs and make sure I can be in line at the Disneyland gates just before it opens because it pays off. Unless its a super-crowded holiday, its possible to get nearly every single ride you want to get done at Disneyland in under 2hrs- if you know where to go.

However, something you have to keep in mind is the day of the week you're going. If you are going on a Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday, you'll have the Magic Morning crowd to compete with. So even if your first in line at the rope drop and sprint to Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, you could still be looking at a 45 minute wait due to all the hotel goers who got in before you. I'm warning you about this, but still, even with Magic Morning, mostly the crowds are very light.

            Have an excellent Birthday!

Definitly get there early. Once I went on a day without magic mornings, we filed up main street and waited for the rope to drop. We were then able to ride every Fantasyland ride without a wait in 30 minutes. Most magical thing i have ever done at Disneyland, after riding the astro orbiter, mad tea cups, peter pan, and dumbo alone with no wait during magic hours at the Magic Kingdom (FL)
