Alright, so here's the deal-e-o. I have been wanting to go back to Disneyland for the past two weeks. This should be a simple thing to solve with me living so close to Disneyland now (5 miles). BUT, I have no car, only a bike, and my roomates are not ready to get passes yet ($$$).

So, with my desire to go being so strong, I woke up at 6:30AM this morning, grabbed my bike, camera, and PB&J sandwhich, and hit the road. The journey to downtown disney took me about 30 minutes; I got to the gates by 7:30AM. I am kinda annoyed that there are so few bike racks on property...oh well, at least I found one that's closer.

Walking in the gates, I, as well as everyone else ( ), headed to Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy. I got on in about 5 minutes, got a fastpass for 8:50AM, then hit up Haunted Mansion Holiday. Next, I checked the store near POTC for that new Haunted Mansion CD (stilll not sure if I should but it...any recommendation?). With little time left before I needed to head back to school, I went on Indiana Jones and again on Space Mountain.

All in all, another great/quick trip to Disneyland. I am sure I will be doing this more often. Oh, might I also mention that this was also my first solo trip to Disneyland...it was still pretty fun.

I just imported my pictures and will hopefully upload them tonight and post them in the next two days.

I'm jealous that you can just hop on your bike and go to Disneyland. But it sounds like you had a nice little trip :]

Last Thursday, I stood and stood in that same area waiting for a Monorail to come by so I could take a picture just like that one. Finally I gave up and started walking away - and then of course the Monorail glides by, when I'm not ready to take a photo. And I wish the park was that empty when we were there - much more crowded last Thursday.

I lived in Orange, California from 1964 to 1977 and we went to Disneyland twice a year, once on Orange County Employees night in May, and once during the Christmas break. Plus whenever we had company visiting from out of state, of course they would want to go to Disneyland so we went with them. But I wish we had gone more when we lived so close. That was in the days of the ticket books and there were no annual passes back then, so each trip was a major expenditure.

i've been looking for this pic! I love the half pink, half blue costume, like how the fairies fight over colors in the movie. from what ive heard, its not even for sale though :/

Actually, the blur actually looks good! it just looks like it represents that the vehicles and things in the mirrors move. Look at this promotional picture/concept art of Toy Story Mania:

The darts look purposely blurry. I think your picture looks the same way, like you meant it to be like that, it's really cool. It's an interesting angle, I've never tried to take a picture of the sides of the DoomBuggies in that part of the ride before, interesting angle!

Great pics! I love the Monorail one. What kind of camera do you use?

I thought about going today but decided it would still be a little to hot. I didn't feel like standing 2 hours in line for Ghost Galaxy in the baking sun. Here's hoping for next weekend!

Hmm very true about the blur. Although, at a larger size the picture starts looking unattractive, but nonetheless...haha.


Hey BasilofBakerStreet, I use a Nikon d50. Go at 8am...nice short lines - it did start getting hot around 9:30 though.

Splashmoun10, I always look forward to your photo TRs! Thanks for sharing these with us. The early morning shots of the park are beautiful. And I do like the slight blur in the last HMH photo too. Great job!

Yeah, except it was not a rope drop day. They held us at the gates until 8. But, the disney hotel guests were roaming about inside before us.
