  • [Fun] What would you add for Halloween?

Well as it is Halloween again and there have been some neat changes this year, what else would you like to see in the park? We already have Haunted Mansion Holiday, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy,Hallowscreams fireworks, the Main Street Pumpkin Festival, the Halloween overlay for the the Big Thunder Ranch, and the Ray Bradburry Halloween tree. What are some of your ideas as to what they should add?

I would love to see more villain characters walking around to include JAck Skellington, Sally, Wicked Witch, Evil Queen, Malefiecent, Hades, Jafar, Cruella Devil, Captain Hook, Smee, Frollo, Radcliffe, Strombolie, Gaston, Oogie Boogie, Big Bad Wolf, Horned King and the Dr. Faciler.

I would like to see the castle add an exterior over lay with faux black thorns like in Splash Mountain to the walls of the castle. Also add some fog machines to the moat.

I would like to see Fantasyland decorated with fall items like it is in TDL.

Well wat are your ideas or thoughts?

I would love to see the villians take over the Celebrate! street party parade.
During the middle of the performance, we hear a crack of thunder and smoke. then pops out Jafar or and he uses his magic powers to bring all of the villians out and give a decent parade performance.

I would like to see fog on the water surrounding the castle for starters.

Yeah! Or perhaps something more like at Magic Kingdom where the fog is at the entrance:

Whats to stop them from putting fog in the moat at the castle and the entrance. A lot of great ideas so far keep it up.

Re: What would you add for Halloween?

I would like to see more stuff done like Hong Kong Disneyland with the few mazes added into Disneyland and DCA... Obviously since it is Disney they couldnt go too crazy on scaring people or get too crazy on stuff with it but I am sure they could have something that would appeal to everyone in the family and still be frightfully festive with a few slight startles but nothing too wild... Since its Disney it would obviously focus on taking you into the world of your favorite Disney Villans... It could even be a cross promotion for classic Disney films as they could try out themes that take you into the lairs and dungeons of your favorite Disney Villans which would include a meet and greet at the end.

Maybe they could make use of the old millionaire building in DCA, The vacant area behind Big Thunder Trail, the top floor of the StarCade, or a Backstage part of DCA with a haunted attraction... A perfect theme would be something like a walk through Maleficents castle with her henchmen, Hades Underworld with his minions, Barbosas pirate caves with cursed pirates, or even a Kingdom Hearts type of walkthrough... It wouldnt necessarily aim to be scary but it would more or less be something like a darker version of Mickeys House in Toontown but with a bit of a darker theme based on Disney Villans and their lairs including a meet and greet at the end... Obviously in any Villans Lair there will be henchmen popping out from the dark corners and strange noises to set the mood as you walk though [think of Snow White and the witch popping out... its nothing too scary but still kinda dark and fun]

Maybe have people dressed up as Disney Villans around the park more and roam around... example... have the Queen of Hearts walking around more and have a few people around her dressed as playing cards in a section of the park.

Maybe have Hades, Maleficent, and other Villans walking around the parks! The key thing is not to be "scary" since it is Disney but to have enough of a darker tone for the season to really make Halloweentime shine!
Add me... I dont bite LOL!

i think it would be amazing for the castle to have thorns around and an eerie fog looming over the dark castle. making a spooky atmosphere that makes families want to explore.

I just think the castle is too pink for its own good during Halloween. Another I'd to help the area is fix the banners on the light poles in front of the castle to reflect the Halloween or If they add the thorns and the fog make them look torn up and destroyed.

Re: What would you add for Halloween?

I would love to see them do a Halloween overlay for Big Thunder. That attraction is just screaming for such an overlay. For example, some cobwebs, tumbleweeds, eerie audio and lighting effects around the queue area, particularly the town of Rainbow Ridge. Lighting effects on the mountain and around the ride. Some spooky sounds and ghostly appearances in some of the caverns the train passes through. It's a natural. Hopefully, one of these years, we'll see this happen.

Right now I'm editing some video that I shot of the Mickey's Halloween Treat hard ticket event that they did in Disneyland back in 1995. One thing they did that year and for the event the following year was very cool. The Castle was lit very beautifully (more-so than normal). A witch would fly overhead on Tinkerbell's wire and "bewitch" the Castle. Via lighting/projection effects, it became overgrown with "vines and thorns" and Maleficent, Cruella and the Wicked Queen would come out. Later, the witch would fly over again and reverse the spell, with the Castle returning to it's pretty lighting and three princesses would come out. (In 1996, it was a bit more involved, as they actually did a show with musical numbers and dancing each time. The Castle spell was reversed by Flora, Fauna and Meriweather.) Anyway, it was very, very cool and it would be great if they would at least have the Castle put under a spell, with the spell being reversed, a few times an evening, like they do with the "snow moments" during the Christmas holidays. It would add another great element to Halloween.

Oh, another one. I would really love to see them have a photo opportunity with the three hitchhiking ghosts from the Haunted Mansion. Since they are ousted, in effect, from the Mansion during HMH, this would be the perfect time to have them out and about.

Just to clarify, there weren't fireworks with the witch at the 1995 & 1996 events. She just flew and cast her spells & everything happened down below.

Re: What would you add for Halloween?

I'd like to see a Halloween layover to Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, & Matterhorn.

I'd like to see each land have one "Halloween" themed attraction layover.

I'm thrilled Space Mountain got a Halloween treatment. The Halloween season is big in America. And I hope there's more for the future.

I don't think having a total of 5 Halloween treatments on top of rides is too much, do you all think?

                              1. Haunted Mansion
                              2. Space Mountain

                              3. ?
                              4. ?
                              5. ?

                              But no more.
Then I think people will start to think it's overkill.

And I'm sure there are those who do not get into "trick or treat" season at all.

Dear Peoplemover Fans, If you want to see a new attraction that at least mimics the 1967 Peoplemover in a future Tomorrowland remodel, you need to write to the powers-that-be, and let them know. If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.

A villains parade would be cool. They have a Halloween parade at WDW which I absolutely love, I'm pretty sure it's called the Boo to You Parade. I'd love to see that at Disneyland.

Love, love, LOVING these ideas! I love the idea of the castle overlay, the parade and a villain store. I think a hay bale maze up by the Big Thunder ranch would be awesome. And turning the millionaire building into some sort of Halloween attraction would be great. There is also a thread about using dry ice or some sort of fog in strategic places. I'm not sure about overlaying that many rides. I know there are some people who don't even like the 2 we have now. It might be overkill to do more.
