Water parks lose their appeal to anyone over 30. You realize it's like sharing a bath with all these people. You see diapers. You decide you're too "old" for it when the whole idea starts grossing you out.

    Thank you Key....

Also another reason is Disneys California Adventures is not bringing in much of a profit.... and until it does Disney probably wont make one... or even if it does they might not even make one at all.

Are you sure about that? Not everyone needs a 90 degree day to attend a water park. They also have an interesting concept called heated pools that make the experience more enjoyable when it gets a bit chilly.

I can see a day/night schedule Easter through Labor Day and a 10-5 schedule Labor Day through New Years. Close from January through Easter for rehab. and new construction.

Thank you .. I had a feeling I wrote something wrong. I was there a couple years ago ... just forgot the exact name.

I can see what you are trying to say with that, but Wild Rivers and Soak City are very popular water parks. Sure, many would rather spend a day at the beach (it's free, no chlorine, bring your own lunch) but it's not like water parks in CA are suffering with the close proximity to the beach.

If memory serves me right, back in the 80s there was a water park fairly close to Anaheim called Wild Wild Wet. It's not there anymore, which if you think about it might be a reason why Disney hasn't built any water parks in Southern California.

I really think Disneyland has the land available, and the ideas ready, so they should definitely make a water park!

Ok, this question was bugging me so much that I had to make an account. I dont think Disney will make a Water Park but who knows. I have been to Disneyland a billion times.... and I know it inside out. My dad works down there and my mom was born there... ETC.

    On topic now....

The weather in Anaheim is very unpredicatable and I dont think it is worth it. Which means Disney just wasting their.

If there was a waterpark... it would be placed on the Over flow parking and Strawberry fields.. which I believe is next to the old and original Castle Hotel thing? Correct me if I am wrong.

So thats a reason why they wouldn't.

Fine, put a layer of CM parking with guest parking a floor below that.

That's how Hollywood and Highland shopping center works.

I would imagine California earthquake codes make it prohibitively difficult to accommodate large parking areas. They would need a lot of levels of parking, because I don't think they can manage with only one level.

Why can't backstage and parking be underground?

If I were Disney, I would never back down from building a water park because there were others nearby. If Disney built a water park on the same caliber of Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, I would never visit another of the water parks.

If Disney ever does develop any of their Anaheim property into a third gate, I really hope it is a water park. Furthermore, if they themed it to Jules Verne and 20,000 Leagues I would love it.

Maybe in like 10-20 years but I don't see this happening soon. But hey if its indoors it would be a great addition to the Disneyland Resort.

If I may politely say ... in light of some earlier comments....

and let say this with a laugh ....

we really need to stop playing accounteneers like we know Disney's finances. It's not poor little Mom&Pop operation .. lets stop acting like they can't afford this .. can't afford that .. in any thread.

This is a multi BILLION dollar entertainment conglomerate ... who spends hundreds of millions to billions of dollars from ABC, to Fox Family network .. to Go.com .. to Marvel, etc, etc.

They got the money power to wield what they want .....

the parks are not top priority!

It all comes down to what they decide is a priority.

    Simple.

    Period.

Because of limited space .. I don't think Disney would make a water park a priority .. with the following in SoCal already:

    1. Knott's Soak City (10 minutes away)
    2. Wild Wet in Irvine (20 minutes away)
    3. Raging Rivers in San Dimas (30 minutes away)
    4. Hurricane Harbour on the grounds of Magic Mountain. (An Hour+ away)

I'm dusting one off here for appropriateness:

Right now DLR simply does not have the money to even warrant the concept for a 3rd park. They just dropped a billion into the DCA revitalization and another 4billion to aquire Marvel. My bet is that Disney is patiently waiting for the lease contracts to run out on the remaining property owners on that block so that they can build an appropriately sized venue. This probably won't happen within the next 10 years though. Disney obviously has their priorities elsewhere.
