Yay! First post of a new thread! Back in a moment to edit with some nice new photos!

I always felt that Disneyland got the shaft on the spooky themeing. I realize Walt didn't want something like that in his parks (which all Mansions since abandoned). Since I have my nice new camera, I thought I would showcase some of the details that our Mansion has.






Then of course, some random inside shots.

Random question for our resident Mansion effects experts, and this is something very simple, I am sure....

What is the method, and is it the same for WDW AND DL, for the green flames in the ballroom fireplace? Just a fan and a piece of cloth, maybe a light, like I might imagine? I find I rarely look at this area closely in the ride, shall have to look at it this weekend when I go in HMH out in DL...

The Ballroom flames at Disneyland are just a sheet of mylar, a fan and a green spotlight, kind of like the flames in Pirates but a different color. At WDW its a new effects spotlight on the cloth, but as far as I know, no fan to move it.

Those pictures look like they were taken with flash, so I imagine they look a lot better in the dark.

I was just thinking they looked pretty hokey. Neon green? Puh-lease. Although I've not been (yet), Phantom Manor doesn't look like it can hold it's own against the OG Haunted Mansion. (IMO)

You know the ghosts in the DL Haunted Mansion are all neon-colored, right? Mostly green.

Hmmmm. From the pictures posted above the DL ghosts look blue. However, I was not commenting on the ghosts,but the skeletons (which were not neon), but they were hanging off of some slime-green paper mache looking tree-type things. Perhaps it was the flash photography you mentioned earlier, but those scenes look unconvincing and kinda weak.

Being that I have not been to any other HM than the one at DLR, I suppose I am a tad prejudice.
