So while in the park on Monday for our annual Halloween Time visit they extended the park hours from 8:00 closing to 9:00. Is this a common practice? This was the first time I have ever had this happen. Thanks.

Re: Disney Stays Open Extra Hour On Monday
It happened several days last week too. This is most likely due to SM:GG.
The last time I remember it happening so often was back in 05 in the fall... the 50th was too popular. Apparently the Ghost Galaxy is too popular.

Last week they extended by an hour on Wed and Thurs as well.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

When I visited DL Paris, the fireworks started at park closing because it didn't get dark until very late. The Mur

Re: Disney Stays Open Extra Hour On Monday
On the tram ride in, they say Disneyland is closing at 8:00 PM. Then when you get in the park, you start hearing PA announcements that the park is remaining open an extra hour until 9:00 pm. Sees to be happening every day (yes, I am there every day). It does seem like it would make more sense to just say 9:00 pm right up front.

Re: Disney Stays Open Extra Hour On Monday
They stayed open an extra hour again tonight. They will also be staying open an extra hour Thursday night (its been anounced to Cast members that they will be held over on their shifts) They do it as a courtesy to guests when the parks are very busy. Also, I think they do it because its easy to stay open and hold over the staff and extra hour if you need it, but its cheaper to plan on closing if they don't have the crowds. An hour at the park probably costs a small fortune in labor so they always plan on the lowest cost with the ability to increase if needed.
Since I'm also a stock holder, I like to see the company run cost efficiently too.Hidden Mickey - Tower of Terror

Re: Disney Stays Open Extra Hour On Monday
I left about 1:30 this afternoon, and they were already announcing it would be open until 9:00. If they already told the cast they are staying until 9:00 tomorrow, I guess they are convinced it is really going to be busy all week.
Good. I hope they are busy as can be every day. Then perhaps we won't see any more cutbacks in the entertainment. I'll gladly put up with parking problems as long as I get to see Farley, and the Bootstrappers, and the Miner 49ers, and Billy Hill and the Hillbillies, and the shows at the Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue.

It's been very busy since HalloweenTime started, and all October weekdays thus far have had their closing time extended by at least an hour.

Re: Disney Stays Open Extra Hour On Monday
When I checked the calendar at Disneyland.com on Tuesday, for most of October they were scheduled to be open 10AM-8PM Monday through Thursday (with a few exceptions).
Yesterday it had changed and they extended the hours from 9AM-9PM Mon-Thu for the next two weeks (again with Columbus Day and Thu the 15th being exceptions).
Oddly enough the last week before Halloween the hours are still cut back. I would expect it to be busy for Halloweentime. Maybe they're taking a wait-and-see approach since fall breaks will be over by then?
