[Chat] I really miss the Parks

Hey All,

I live in San Francisco (close by), and grew up in LA. I only get to go to the park about once a month but havn't been to the parks since August 25th. I was at d23 and been going to the disney museum, but... I really am dieing for a trip to the park. Even on recent trips to New Orleans, New York, and Vegas all I could think is damn, I want to ditch my friends and go to disney world or land.

Anyone have the same mindset I do? Would you rather go to a disney park by yourself than go on a trip with friends to a city?

Oh my gosh! I feel your pain I live in Walnut Creek and I got laid off at work so I can't go till around christmas time. I haven't been since May and this is really the longest I have gone without going and I feel like I'm going crazy.

I've just been looking up old pictures and decorating my house Halloween mickey theme. I'm so sad

I desperately miss the parks, which is probably why I spend way too much time on this website. I live vicariously through other people's trip reports.:blush:

I would definitely go by myself if it were an option. My family would kill me, though...

Living in Dallas, we only get to go twice a year at the most. I envy people who even get to go once a month. But I'm like you, when we take a trip to SF, NYC, CHI or NOLA, we are always thinking, "We could be spending this money at Disneyland".......

I live in Fremont and haven't been to the park since 2005. NEMO was still a big dirt pit and TSMM wasn't and D None of my friends have any real interest in going and neither does my girlfriend so I have no idea when I'll be making it back there.

I've thought about hopping on my ZX-6 and riding down for a
weekend but I'm not sure I want to hit the parks alone, so in the meantime I get my fix by visiting this site.

It's very hard on me. Living in AZ and with the economy the way it is and being unemployed, we haven't been since December '08. We used to go 2-4 times a year. Before we had the kid 7 years ago, the then girlfriend (now wife) and I used to just pick up and go. We would leave on a Friday morning and come back Sunday late. Those were the days!

Micechat, to me in this instance, is a double edge sword. I like reading the trip reports and how everyone goes to the Sunday meets and are great friends. Then i think about how I don't get to go, and how I've only been to one meet and how I've missed the changes and I get jealous.

I really do miss the parks and am trying to figure out a way to get there soon, but with our economic status, i just don't know.

As far as going to DL by myself i used to all the time when i was a CM but lately i've gone with my boyfriend...although i do sometimes miss going alone.

I feel for you guys that get to go twice a year, that would kill me, I feel horrible that I only get to go once a month. I just count down the days until I go again, and hope that the day will soon come that I live in Huntington Beach and get to go a couple times a week at least.

Yeah I don't really have friends who really like disney. Pretty much with a lot of effort I can get my friends to go 1-4 times a year. Family members 2-6 times. But the level of effort really bothers me. I wish I could get them into the parks.

At the same time I am really lucky. I have friends that came all the way down with me to go to the d23 expo and to the disney museum. Also, i got friends to go to the d23 day with the legends event. I always feel bad, because while they have a good time, it's a lot for them to spend that kind of time on something they are not super into.

Sooner or later I am going to go to one of these micechat meets... just haven't got to internal push to yet.

I live in Kansas. We used to go once a year. However, we didn't get to go last year. Hoping to attend the anniversary meet, though.
