you know sometimes you need that cold beer on a hot summer day to drink and sit on a bench and relax. i know downtown Disney and California have some but that's a long walk.just wondering why one park and not the other.

Re: Why don't they sell beer at disneyland.
Walt Disney didn't want alcohol in the park. But as you say, alcohol is allowed in all the other non Disneyland branded Disney parks (EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, DHS, DCA) as well as Disneyland Paris. I think it's prohibited at TDL but available at TDS, if I'm not mistaken. I don't see the need to prohibit alcohol at some parks and not others.

I had heard that Disneyland does not have a liquor license, but Club 33 does. I suppose they could just apply and get one for the park, and sell the golden elixir but maybe they are keeping with Walt's wishes for that park? I tend to just find a bar in DTD and sit back and enjoy it there.

don't quote me on this because I don't remember the source or the credibility of the source: I heard that Walt didn't want alcohol in the parks, so his wishes were kept and followed through. bit once he died, all the parks that were built after his death allowed alcohol.
I thought it sounded bizzare, but who knows.-plagued

Just what we need... glow in the dark yellow cups of beer strewn about Main Street... no thank you.
I realize DCA sells it, I know Knott's also sells alcohol... personally I feel it detracts from the "family" atmosphere... be it your own family or someone else's."Happiness is a Low Water Level"

Re: Why don't they sell beer at disneyland.
i find it weird that i haven't gotten a beer at DCA yet.. well actually it's not too weird, the price for the dinky sippy cup is a bit steep..
plus it's been hot, and i'm the opposite with a cold refreshing beer on a hot day.. once settled in, the alcohol would have made the day hotter for me.. but now that it's getting chilly, i think i'm finally due to try a cold beer-plagued

I think it does detract from the 'family' atmosphere. I don't mind having to walk over to DCA (even if their beer selection is kinda lame) to get a cold one. I tend to over-enjoy (hehe heh), so a little jaunt between drinks keeps me in line.
The prohibition of booze in the main park makes it that much more difficult for those who overindulge to do so. And that's ideal. The last thing I want to see at DL is a bunch of drunk dude-bros swaggering around getting louder and more obnoxious with every Pabst they swill. Ugh.For those of you that are curious about my wedding:

Agree 100%. I love the fact that you can get a little bit of your drink on at the secondary parks. The Primary castle parks need to be sacred and I love the fact that they are super family friendly.

Because Walt said so and I like it that way!"Crowded classrooms and half-day sessions are a tragic waste of our greatest national resource - the minds of our children." -Walter Elias Disney
